CDJ2000 and Rekord box search

Hi all, i am new here. Just purchased a pair of cdj2000's and a djm 2000 to run rekordbox on my macbook pro. I have tried everything to try and get the player to list the "genre" option in the search list but just cant get it. It lists title, album, artist, playlist and hot cues, but no genre which is one of the most important options for me... Can anyone shed any light on this matter please.

Many thanks,
Chris

@Chris > In Rekordbox, go to "File" > "Preferences" > "Export" and you will see 2 sections where you can move ways to sort from the Inactive Categories to Active Categories. Just nudge the "Genre" over to the Active Category, and any others you would like. Then you can move them on the list up and down to have the exact order you want.

Here's a video on how to do it with a USB device as well: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tOcSkD4oDyo

Thank you so much for this information. Even pioneer couldn't help me on this one. Top man.

I did read the manual over and over but didn't really understand the terms they explained it in as I am totally new to rekordbox... It does help once you have been using it for a while as you understand the way it all works better, but I did get that desporate after hours of trying to figure it out that I called pioneer for help, and they were just telling me to create a playlist folder...
