[CLOSED] How do I connect (sync) my computer, and recordbox with the cdj 350?

@Heidi > The CDJ-350's cannot connect to a computer to access Rekordbox. The Pro DJ LINK feature is needed on the CDJ's in order to do this. i.e. the CDJ-900's and CDJ-2000's only

If you would like to use Rekordbox analyzed files with your CDJ-350's, you will need to export the tracks from Rekordbox to a USB device, and connect it to the top of the CDJ-350.

Do you know if traktor would work, in that  case which version?im also wondering if i can somehow use the computer (maybe synced with traktor) to use as an audio from the players??

And is it possible to connect and sync them with usb?

@Heidi > Yes, Traktor will work with the CDJ-350's. :)

I would recommend a version of Traktor 2, because it is the most recent and up to date version. Then it would be your decision if you would only need 2 decks (Traktor Duo), or if you would like 4 decks (Traktor Pro). You will only need the software and not the timecode or external sound card.

To connect to Traktor, you will use the USB connection on the back of the CDJ-350's and connect them directly to your computer. This will allow the CDJ-350's to control a specific deck in Traktor, and have the audio come out of the CDJ-350 output and into your mixer.

If you would like to use the USB connections on the top of the CDJ-350's, you will have to use a USB device such as an external hard drive or a USB stick. When using this type of media to play tracks on the CDJ-350's, it's best to use Rekordbox analyzed files and export them to the device. This will allow for quick load time including the waveform, and an accurate BPM count.

What i ment was if i can play the sound out of my decks through the computer?

Do i need to download the midi mapping file as well to make this work??because i have traktor but it doesnt locate my cdj players?

@Heidi > No worries, I'll try to help as much as I can. :)

First, I would like to make sure you are on the latest version of Firmware for your CDJ-350's. Please check  HERE and check your CDJ-350's that they are both running version 1.06.

If they are not, please follow the link on that page to get the latest Firmware version and please update your CDJ's. 

Second,  what you'll need to do is create an "aggregate device" because Mac doesn't like to use 2 separate sound cards. You can do it yourself by going into "Audio MIDI Setup" or you can download this nifty tool provided by Pioneer. Once again, on that link I provided above, please follow it to the "CDJ-350 Firmware & Drivers" page, and please download the "Mac OS Tool". Download and Install this tool on your Mac, run it with both of your CDJ-350's connected via USB Cable, and set up an "Aggregate Device" by using it.

Third, yes you will need to download the "Midi Mapping File" located on that page as well. :)

Once you have completed all of these, you will need to start up Traktor, set the CDJ's in PC mode, and run the "Setup Wizard", this will ask you to select the Controller you will be using, and please choose the "CDJ-350".  You will also need to import the .tsi file for the CDJ-350 as well (I think).

Once you have completed that, you can setup the "Preferences" in Traktor.

Do you have an external mixer, such as the DJM-350 to go with your CDJ's?

If so, you will need to select using "External Mixing Mode". Also, set your "Output Routing" to the CDJ's. This might be:

Output Channel A:

L: "Input 0" or it could be "Built-in Left"

R: "Input 1" or it could be "Built-in Right"

Output Channel B:

L: "Input 2"

R: "Input 3"

Not 100% sure, but please put the numbers in ascending order from the top down. ;)

 Then the output of your decks in Traktor will come out of the CDJ's and go into your mixer, if you're using one?

There may be a few more tweaks and things you might like to add. Please let me know if you have anymore questions. :)

I´m trying to do this one step at the time, and so far it´s going okay. But I can´t seem to open the aggregator file, cdj drive exe file and c350main.upd file. But maybe I can manage the aggregator file through your link.

And I also have the djm350 mixer.

@Heidi > Hmm.. the aggregator file from my link should be a "CDJ_Aggregator.zip" file and should open on Mac no problem. The mapping file should also be a "PIONEER_CDJ-350_V101.zip" and should load a .tsi file.

You do not need the Driver or "Pioneer_CDJ_Driver_1.102.exe" file because this is for Windows only. Mac doesn't need this. ;)

 Perfect, make sure you set it to "External" for "Mixing Mode". :)

I have managed to open the aggregator file and followed the steps with the settings in tractor, 

I have also managed to open the tsi. file in tractor. But still I can´t get the mac to synchronize with the cdj 350 player(s).

Nothing happens and they are connected through usb.

Note: When opening the setup wizard the cdj 350 is not an option. It starts from cdj 400 and so on.

Yes, it should be under "Preferences" where you can "Import" the CDJ-350.tsi file, and select that you would like it to use "Controller Mappings".

After you import the CDJ-350.tsi, I don't think you will have to run the setup wizard, it should recognize the controls properly.

Which version of Traktor are you running?

Did you press the "PC Mode" button on the CDJ-350's before you launch Traktor?

They need to be connected and set before you launch Traktor in order to be recognized.

Try that and let me know how it goes. :)

I´ve managed to make traktor and cdj 350 players to work together now, at last :P

But I cant get the cdj 350 mixer too work while it´s connected to the traktor. Is this normal?

The DJM-350?

As long as you selected the "External" "Mix Mode" in the "Preferences" you should be good to go. The DJM-350 does not have a USB to connect to a computer and is not meant to control software. The DJM-350 is a stand alone mixer and uses the on board ISO EQ and effects instead of controlling Traktor. This is good in my opinion because I prefer hardware mixer over software mixers. :) 

I did select external mix mode.I totally agree, i would  prefer to learn with the hardware:)The traktor is partly synced now i think because i can set the music through my mac but the djm mixer doesnt work at all..Cant use the eq,crossfader or any effects..could it be that i have a bluetooth speaker connected to my mac?Im sorry for my poor explanation but i hope you understand..

Anyhow ive learned alot just today and looking forward to more djeeing:)

@Heidi > Are you able to see the music coming into the DJM-350? Do the channel lights work and you can see audio is being sent to it?

If not:

1. Did you setup the "Output Routing" properly in the Traktor "Preferences" as I mentioned above?

2. Did you connect the provided RCA cables from the CDJ-350's into the back of the DJM-350 on the "CD" input and have switches on the top of the mixer set to "CD" and not "Phono"?

You will need to connect your DJM-350 directly to the speakers in order to hear the music. You can use a dual RCA cable to connect to the back of the DJM-350, either "Master Out" 1 or 2, but those cables will need to connect to your speakers which you want to hear the music out of. :)

Hi, another noob here.

I have a similar setup, which is 2x CDJ-350 and 1x DJM-250.

I have messed around with drivers etc and Traktor but I can only get both decks controlling the same track :S

If you're able to help, feel free to ask for further info about my setup.

With the current setup I can play music from winamp through the mixer > headphones/speakers but in control mode I can only control track 1 which LOOKS like it's playing, but nothing seems to be coming through to the mixer.
