Hot Cue loading problems, cd+usb problems

Hi!

I have 2 Pioneer CDJ 2000s(4.05 firmware) + Rekordbox 1.5.2. Yesterday when I was in the club, the cdj 2000 – no.2(with USB) couldn’t load the HOT CUE points of the track, and after that the PLAY button had no effect.(I tried to change other track – but the same problem – PLAY button = no effect.) à I couldn’t mix, and need to restart the player no.2 with USB, and of course the music in the player no.1 stoped.

I have similar problem, when I wanted to combinate CD-R and USB(no.1 player links to no.2(USB), and  the cd was in no.2 player) The cdj works to long(read the CD-R) I restarted the no.2 player of course the, the player which links to the player with USB/CD-R(no.2 player) lost the connection = great silence.

Othe problem: The vynil brake problem – the vynil mode is on, but when I push the play button during the music is playing, the PLAY have the same function then in CDJ mode

USB = KINGSTON R500(new 16GB)

“Sorry for my English”

@ts > First of all, please update your players to the latest firmware, 4.10 - available here: http://www.pioneer.eu/eur/support/software/CDJ-2000/index.html

Did you make note of which track this happened with? Can you replicate the issue with the same audio file?

You were using one CDJ as the host and had the second CDJ linked (i.e. all running from the same USB stick)?

If you are playing music from CDJ-A when the USB stick is connected to CDJ-B, then power cycling the unit will cause everything to stop playing.

As for vinyl brake, were you in Vinyl Mode and had the brake settings adjusted accordingly?

For vynil brake  - all settings were good:

Jog Mode: VYNIL - ON

Vynil Speed adjust: touch/break - at right side

and when I pushed the play button, the music immediately stoped. No slow down,

 I have problem with the usb more times. I have 2 cdj 2000s. The second player as the host and the first links to the second player. It happened always with the host player where I had the USB stick. (yes all running from the same USB stick) It happend never at home only in clubs.

I pushed the REC/CALL to load HOT CUEs, after that A, but then the player couldn´t load the A hot cue point. ---> The Play had no effect. I tried to choose other track. I could, but after  the play had no effect.(no sound)

Hi!

After the updating to 4.10 version - it happedend again. When I wanted to load the hot cues - "pushed the rec/call  button and then A, B, C the PLAY button lost effect. The CDJ allowed me to change track but after pushing the PLAY --- no signal no sound= no effect,I pushed the CUE button =nothing happend. I called the authorized pioneer service in Slovakia and they recommend me to try other USB key.

The new is that  - now it happend with the player no. 1. After the update I put there my USB stick KingstonR500 16GB(FAT32 - used 6.55GB. (the 2 players was now not connected with lan cable)

I don't know what to do:(

@ts > The problem with the vinyl brake could well be an issue with the jog switch; the pressure-sensitive contacts under the top platter.  Does the player play normally in vinyl mode or does it just "pause"?

As for the hot cues, please re-format your USB device (twice) and export all the tracks again then try once more to see if the problem occurs.

I've the same problem, and I had it with different CDJ players. It always happens at the host player and I've tried to re-format my USB but it won't help.

Friends of my have the same problem, and I even have it with different USB devices.

@Jaap > Given that this thread is a year old, could you please start again and post your exact issues as they relate to you. Please also post what equipment / media you use and how you prepare that media etc.

@Gavin I'm sorry

I use the Pioneer CDJ 2000 weekly in some clubs.

Sometimes when I load a Hot Cue the hole CDJ 2000 get frozen. I can't select another song, the only solution is to turn on and off the CDJ of eject the USB.

It only happens on the host player, but of course when I turn it on and off the music will stop playing on the other CDJ.

I've tried to re-format my USB, and different USB sticks but that doesn't work. The players are up to date (version 4.20) and I'm using rekordbox 2.0.7. The CDJs are connected via cable without a network hub (2 players).

And it isn't the music file because later on the same night, same usb and same player the Hot Cue will load successfully.

I'm not the only one who has this problem. I asked it on a dutch forum and there were a lot of other guys who had the same problem.

@Jaap > What capacity are the sticks? What program did you use to format them to FAT32? How many tracks are on the USB stick and how 'deep' does your folder structure go (i.e. open one folder into another folder etc)?

@Gavin The USB sticks were 32gb and 64gb, both of San Disk and FAT32 formated with my mac.

There were about 2500 numbers on the USB sticks, that was about 29-30gb. But both had the same problem, the 64gb had also this problem what I described earlier. And the structure of the playlist I use the most is the 6th folder.

I hope I've told you everything you wanna know.

@Jaap > Have you tried reformatting the USB sticks twice? So, run a format and then format again. For some reason this worked for us with older CDJ versions, although we're not quite sure why.
