Hot Cue alternatives

Hey I recently bought the 350 setup and it suits my needs perfectly except for one thing. There are no hot cues on the 350's and I don't really have a problem with this as it's an entry level setup but I really want to be able to remix on the spot to make my mixes more interesting. Was thinking of buying a kontrol x1 to solve this problem but after shelling out so much money on the setup, I really want something cheaper so was thinking of maybe getting the novation dicer. Just wondering does anyone know if these just hook up to your laptop through usb or do the connect to the mixer too. Already use an exf 500 so wouldn't have any outputs left to plug them into. Any advice on this would be great or any other recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Also would like to know do I even need to purchase something like this or could I remap the traktor mapping so that the track search and search buttons could be used as 4 cue points or are they already mapped to do something else. Don't know how to make or remap a midi mapping so this is a major factor in making me look for alternative hardware to use.

Please help!!

They are usb...why not look at an alternative, like a launchpad..more pads/buttons more functions.

Thanks for the response. Am I right in saying that I would have to use the lauchpad with ableton?

It costs €155 while I found the dicer online for €40. Trying to keep costs down cause I recently just bought my setup with a case, amp and speakers and I'm also saving for a holiday to Ibiza. I usually dj with cd's or traktor and I just want something that I can use to set cue points in traktor so that I can remix on the fly. If I get the launchpad then I assume I will have to use ableton and my setup that I just bought will not be any use to me.

Just wasn't to be sure how the dicer connected up. If you have an idea of products similar to the dicer or x1 that work with traktor I'd love to know so that I could check them out before I make a purchase. Would love a midi fighter but with delivery to Ireland it will cost about €200 and again I'm trying to keep costs down at the moment.

The dicer on has 8 buttons, the launchpad has 65 buttons.
Also you are using the lainchpad as a midi controller, no need to run ableton.
You can re,map any

I only need it for cue points as i can control the looping on the 350's. The only thing I can't control is the effects but I'm not a big fan of the traktor effects and have an efx 500 unit that I use to solve this problem. The 3 small buttons on the dicer are for changing pages. Each of these 3 buttons control 2 pages and the 5 big buttons control cue points, looping, effects etc, That means that each dicer has 30 buttons and they come as a pair so that means that I have more then enough buttons since I am just using it for cue points. When I can get a pair of dicer for €40 that's a saving of €115 over the launchpad. Thanks for the advice and I'll certainly look at a few videos and reviews of the launchpad with traktor before I make my final decision.

Thanks Gavin, I was hoping to hear some good feedback. When I only want it for cues points then I can't really go wrong picking it up when it's only €40
