I currently use numark cdx's with ssl which have worked well before the drive started to go. I'm trying to decide on buying replacement cd drive for the cdx's (the cheaper solution) or just stepping up and buying some cdj900 or 2000's.
Just trying to justify the big cost that comes with the cdj's. I'm a home dj and only do small parties and occasional bars but I think it would be nice to have confidence in my dj gear when I turn it on which I don't have now. I've never used cdj's and am wondering if they would be a big improvement from the cdx's? Unfortunately, I not have a local dj store to try them out in so I'm looking for some feedback here to help me make the right decision.

I have both and the waveform on the 2000 is worth its weight in gold,
You can see where to drop tunes and whats going on with the tune in front you alongside the decimal point for tighter mixing,
if you have the funds to goto the top level then dont hesitate as the 2000 is far superior to the 900.
added bonuses include sd reader and hot cues as opposed to slip mode which i dont really use to be honest.
I used some 900's last year and couldn't get on with the screen. 2000's all the way.
