BPM counter issues

Hi all, first time on here.

Always loved the Pioneer Pro DJ range, good stuff

Ok, 2 quick Q´s...Do the CDJs act like vinyl decks when shifting from say 120 BPM to 121BPM..My feeling is that sometimes jumping whole BPMs, or even indeed the decimal places in between (when only the % changes) seems to be different than ´within´a BPM notch. Rather like when a Technics deck would hit the middle section on the pitch control. If a track is only slightly too fast or slow I´m at loathe to adjust the pitch if it means clicking over to another BPM, rather using the platter for those oh so small adjustments when in the mix.

The other Q is, should I just ignore sporadic flutuations on BPM..sometimes it changes slightly mid track....more often with USB than CDs, it must be said.

Thanks guys and keep up the solid work at Pioneer!

@Paul > Are you using Rekordbox to analyse your tracks before playing them on the units?

hi Gavin thanks for getting back to me

I've have now installed it and am dragging in my music, Basically I have replaced iTunes with Rekordbox. Impressive.

Is it also possible to record CDs in Rekordbox, I always take some as backup for my USBs, then I could ditch itunes altogether

cheers

@Paul > Great, so first issue is now resolved... Correct?

No, its not currently possible to record to CDs directly from Rekordbox. You can export playlists data and burn those to CDs but they do not any of the data you set on your tracks in rekordbox e.g. analysis / hot cues / loops etc.

ok will burn CD backups as standard.

Is there a certian speed/brand of USB you would recommend for stability/accuracy? Or are SD cards better?

I like to use Corsair Flash Survivor sticks - they are really robust, good transfer speeds and have never presented me with any issues. (Click on the image below)

SD cards work pretty well too - they're safe and secure once popped inside the CDJ (I've seen someone steal a USB stick out of a CDJ in a club once - its harder to do that with SD cards). Both options work well!
