MP3 Comments Field?

I'm getting a couple CDJ 2000's in a few weeks, but am playing a show using them before that time - so I'm wondering if songs show comments from the tags (like in iTunes or RekordBox) on the player? If so, do I have to do anything specifically to see them, or do they just show up while the song is playing?) thanks!

Also if there's any other useful tips I should know that would be appreciated :) I've watched some videos on them and feel I have a decent understanding but I'm sure there's lots I don't know

I'm using songs from RekordBox on a SD Card

I also saw in a thread on the RekordBox forum about hot ques not instantly loading? I know you have to hold the recall button to get them to show up right away, but is there a latency issue when using a hot que or something like that?

Thanks!!!

yes, the comments show on the decks when you hit the info button

yes, you have to manually load each hot start ABC, there is a 1-2 second latency from when you hit the A button to when the A hot start can actually be used. Hopefully this will be changed and it has been suggested for the hot starts to auto load on track load

cool, thanks!! one more question - if you load them up and there's a 2 second delay from when you hit a and it can be used, if you hit A, then start the song, then hit A later, will it still lag to go to the que?

no, once loaded, the hot starts are then instant when hit, its only the initial loading that lags

@T-Top > As BriChi points out, its only the initial loading of the Hot Cue that there is a very small lag so if you know you are going to be using Hot Cues for one particular track load them as soon as you load the track so they'll be ready when you want them.

Auto-load has been suggested but I don't believe its implementable on the current hardware.

Ok sorry now I'm slightly confused - just want to make sure I have this right

It lags when you call them up, and also lags the first time you press a button? (A, B, C)

Or does it only lag when you call them up, and not when you press a button?

well, when you call them up is the first time you hit ABC, once it loads, they are instant, steps:

  1. hold down call

  2. whichever hot start you have saved will blink, lets say A B and C

  3. press the one you want to load, or all 3 and there will be a 1 second lag on each hot start load

now they will be green and work instantly when hit

Ohhhhhhhhhh ok that makes more sense now, i thought you just had to hold down the call button on its own

That makes sense then, thanks!
