that works great "if" you have the older iPod like yours, any of the newer won't allow this because they don't have the "disc mode" anymore :(

Pioneer CDJ 2000 using iPod as USB
I was wondering today if I could use my iPod natively with my CDJ 2000s and the answer is yes! Without any special setup, I can use it as a music source or an extra large USB drive for my 2ks. Here is my video discussing this. Note, the are negatives to this as you will not have the tons of features provided through Rekordbox. But if you have a quick set on your iPod, you can certainly use it, depending on the model.
I do recommend using Rekordbox however. . .

Any iPod will work even without disk mode; you can still access the playlists. iPhones, iPod Touches and the iPad will not be accessible other than via "disk mode" hacks.

I cannot get my iPod to be seen by RB, I have the older 30gb small color screen model, It is set for "disk use", I can open the iPod in finder and create folders and drag music to it yet RB will not see it and it is formatted as "FAT"
any ideas?

With regards to Apple products, the CDJ-2000nexus does have 'Made for iPhone/iPad/iPod Touch' accreditation but we do not recommend using Apple products as mass storage devices (ex. USB flash devices, USB HDD devices) without rekordbox App.
Only the below Apple products are guaranteed compatible with the CDJ-2000nexus
- iPod Touch (3rd generation, 4th generation).
- iPhone 4S, iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS.
- iPad, iPad 2, iPad (3rd generation).

alright, guess theres no point in trying to use it then, It showed up in RB once and crashed RB and now it wont see it, Had one laying around so figured i would try
