Its a worn out spring or faulty spring causing part f the platter to dip a little lower in some parts which in return, causes your problem, it's fairly common unfortunately. You can have it serviced or google "cdj spring fix" :)

Folgenpitch bend catching in vinyl mode
my now just out of waranty barely used cdj900 has started catching the track when trying to pitch bend back in vinyl mode, i played around with it a bit and have it worked down to about a 5" section that i have marked out with tape now since i hate leaving the deck out of vinyl mode but trying to pitch bend back and and end up doing a back spin is really embarrassing... i have tried and tried and im 100% positive that its not me , i only have the issue with one deck and one certain spot.
if i push down on the pitch bend part of the wheel anywhere on the marked 5" section the track will stop , so what is broken? the decks have barely been used as i work away form home alll but about 7 days out of the month, so i didnt wear them out.
any suggestions would be great as this is a game killer for sure.

To give you an answer would be only guess work - a service centre will need to take a look at it.
thats what i was afraid off, when i sent my 800's in a few years ago i didnt see them for month
@Stuart > Some stores / service centres can provide you with equipment to cover you during your downtime - at the very least ask if this service is available to you.
