[SOLVED] Jog wheel dragging/ scraping sound

Hi, recently bought a used cdj-350 from RETAILER and the jog wheel has a scraping sound and feel, as if the wheel is literally touching the base as I spin it. It seems to work fine, though doesn't glide like the other cdj 350, which is brand new.

there is a 30 day return policy

my question: would it be smarter to return the cdj-350 and buy another one or easier/less expensive to just get it fixed? How much will it cost to repair this sort of thing?

@lewes > We aren't able to give you an estimate for fixing, the forums are not for technical support - please use the contacts on the right to find technical support in your area. It may not be a big deal now, but it could become so yes, I would advise getting it fixed. If, as you mention, you have a 30 day return policy I think I would avail of that and buy a new unit.

Was this the same deck you were having Traktor issues with?

getting confusing, sorry. No, my problem with Traktor is unrelated to the dragging jogwheel (my problem with Traktor is more of a comparability/ mapping/ software  issue and exists for both CDJs). I'm just going to send this one back. Thanks for the advice

I would sertainly recommend a return of the product, as my one negative experience of pioneer is regarding a repair, I had the same issue as yourself scraping sound, sent it off for repair, when it came back not only was the problem not fixed, but it was worse, and my jog wheel had a lovely dent that it didnt have before sending it away, and the jog wheel touch pad did not work at all, I think this was due to the fact that one side of the jog plate was flush with the metal of the wheel, and the other side was sitting so high you could see right under it, to pioneers credit due to only being 3 months old the unit was replaced, and an investigation was launched, which didn't help much when the feedback from the repair centre came back saying and this is a quote

Our records show that Richard himself did not collect the item himself and the item I believe it was his father that collected it, and was not in the condition described when it left

Basically saying my dad dropped it, this was impossible for 2 reasons, one the dent on the wheel was outwards not inwards consistent with a fall or something being dropped on it, the dent was consistent with being hit from under the plate
2. My dad is in a wheel chair and asked the technician to carry it out to the car

So if you can return it just avoid all the heart ace and do that
