If its a djm2000 mixer then you can use the built in switch,
if its anything else then you will need a switch for the decks.
plug your laptop and both decks in the switch and you will be good to go.
Need some help please have the 2k setup and would like to know the best connection/cable that goes through deck to mixer??? Also the red light signal on the plater how do I get this to work? Thanks

Yes it's a djm 2000 built in switch??? At the moment I have phono goin from CDJ to djm I'd like to know what cables wud be best??? Thanks for the other
You need to connect an Ethernet cable from each CDJ player to an Ethernet Switch. The DJM-2000 mixer has this ethernet switch built in. But if you have any other mixer then you will need to get a third-party ethernet switch. I would suggest DLink as one reliable brand.
As for the Red Platter lights, I think you must have the DJM-900 Nexus for this feature to work?
Lastly, as for what kind of cables are best.... There are a lot of different cables from different companies, and at all sort of crazyt prices. I'm not really sure you will notice a huge amount of difference with expensive cables. Also, you said you were using phono cables (which I assume means RCA cables?) but why wouldn't you use the digital output if you have a digital mixer?
Sorry ye RCA cables this is what I need to know is there a difference using RCA cables with the digital out set? Or are there other cables other than RCA that will give better sound???
The red lights work on the 900 and 2ks.

connect the ethernets to the cdjs and your laptop
for better cables you can use the digital connections from the cdjs to the mixer.
pioneer offer a range of cables that can be found here,
@Lee > Connect both your CDJ2000s via an ethernet cable to the respective ports on your DJM2000.
Then connect digital cables from the digital connections (orange) on the CDJ to the DJM.
This will give you full functionality over the features you are talking about and the best sound quality.
