[SOLVED] What is the best (easiest connectable) to support HiD via 850s and djm700?

I just purchased my 850s and a djm700. Trying to connect to Traktor Pro 2, having no luck at all, is there any advice? When I drag a track to deck A (via Traktor), nothing happens to the 850. It just displays the connected image. No buttons work on the 850 for Traktor. However, when I press play on Traktor (PC) it plays on one channel through the mixer. Same thing happens with B deck in Traktor, plays through that one same channel. I've read Through other forums that Traktor and 850s are a no go. Very disappointed. Even worse, I actually paid for Traktor Pro 2 (for the support access) and now it's useless. Before I give up and just go down the Virtual DJ path (with HiD connection), I wonder if anyone has one last hope to share for Traktor via HiD....Pioneer, anything? If not Traktor (one of the biggest Dj software used), what confirmed software works with my set up, via HiD connection (USB) or did I waist my money buying the 850s as well. Pioneer, if you advertise a connectivity feature, be sure that you are specific and not mislead the customer about HID connection as a full solution, because it's not. Failing to support/ match/ certify (whatever you want to call it) HiD connection with the one of the most used software (Traktor) in the market carries the possibility of return to supplier for refund in some countries (like mine Aus). Put a sticker on the box that says HID compliant (except for Traktor) and lets see how your sales go.....you see, thats what i mean about misleading. In saying that, if you respond with good new about Traktor HID connection, I retract this comment and will repost positive marks as the 850s and the CDJ series are world class equipment and I have tremendouse admiration for. Hope to here from someone soon?

@Andrew > To set up Traktor with the CDJs you need to do the following:

Ensure you are on the latest firmware on the players and have the latest drivers installed. You can find them here.

Connect both CDJs to your computer via USB (you may need to update ASIO settings - download from asio4all.com).

Run the Traktor Setup Wizard. Let us know how you get on from here.

@Gavin.

How come on this site the latest firmware for the CDJ850s is 1.0.6 but on the EU site its 1.0.8?

Is there any difference and if so what as the EU Pioneer site has no change log for 1.0.8.

Thanks,
Taff

Thanks Gavin. Your advice really helped. With some tweaking I managed to figure out how to make deck a and b play in different channels too. However now I have another problem. Playing for about 20 sec or so, the signal cuts out, yet Traktor still shows that it's playing n the PC. Once I tap play/pause twice (as in stop and start) real quick, the signal retuns and plays again until (the next 20 sec or so) when it does it again.

What do I do now?

Just when you thought you nailed it.
Cheers

Try changing your latency setting higher, thats what worked for me

Thanks Taff. Increased to 384 seemed to work for a while then stopped again. How high is too high?

@Taff > The latest firmware version is 1.08 - sometimes there can be a delay in having all the correct firmwares on the different servers worldwide.

@Andrew > Keep tweaking the latency settings and you'll hit a point that works well for you - everyone's setup is different. I'm glad you're almost sorted!
