I was under the impression that the hot cue's A,B an C on the cdjs where able to set cue points on the fly. I could be wrong but I thought that was the whole point in having them. Unless RB allows to set up more than 3 cue points which I am not sure of and if it was possible how would one utilize 4-6 cue points. How would you recall the extra cue points on the fly. The update would need to have some way to utlize the A, B and C buttons to have two cue points each or more.

CDJ 2000 Nexus: feature request cue points
Hey guys,
I was wondering if it is possible to be able to add more cue points on a track without the use of RB on the CDJ-2000 Nexus. I would love to be able to do in on the fly, with the new waveform it should be a breeze to do it without the use of RB. Hope this can be done through an update.
Sincerely,
Manuel

You can add more cue points and an active loop in Rekordbox, more cuepoints is easier for the count down till the next beatpoint. So for instance a marker for the first beat, chorus, first break, end of first break, second break, and so on...
You can use the memory cues.
@DJNR I think dj Devotion wants the cue points on the fly the memory cues stop the track.
@ DjDevotion a while back I suggested on the suggestion link of having an additional two more hot cue buttons for a total of five hot cues to use on the fly. It was over looked on the new nexus but hopefully it will either be implemented on the next cdjs with allowing sampling on the fly as well as hot cues or with a update as you suggested which I think the slight problem as I mentioned above how would the cues be utilized meaning how would you trigger the extra hot cues on the cdjs not how would you use them in a dj set.
I really don't think that everyone understands what I'm suggesting. So if you watch this video from DJKit.tv on Youtube it will be explained from 7:18 and on. Check it at http://youtu.be/RwTQ-6yi4uY. You see that there are more markers actieve and that there is bar countdown. It would be great to add those markers without the use of Rekordbox whilst you are DJ'ing live.
you can, go to the desired spot, set it as a cue by holding the platter and pressing cue, or pause then cue, or "loop in" which sets a cue also, then when you are happy with it, hit the memory button, now it's saved to that tracks, you can save up to 10 of them
I understand now what you ment needed more explanation. You would think functions like this should be available on the cdjs 2000 nexus on board but many other functions along with this feature are so muched relied on external sources running rekordbox.
This is the main reason why myself and many other djs I know are not making the jump to the new cdjs 2000 nexus because for a price tag of 2000$ + each cdj is way to expensive to have to rely so much on external sources running rekordbox.
Hopefully a well needed firmware update will implement what you mentioned to utilize on the cdjs itself as well as automatic quantizing and the on the fly needle drop function I mentioned on another thread. I will have no problem dropping cash on the cdj nexus if this changes.
INVASION: just an fyi in case you missed it being we posted about the same time, above I had answered the question of

it really didnt need more explaining, set a cue where you want and hit memory button to save, not too hard and you dont need external sources to do so. Hope that helps you guys
@BriChi so it works just like how it would on rekordbox with out the need for utilizing external source running rekordbox? If so that is a plus, hopefully now we can get automatic quantizing and the on the fly needle drop function and it will be in my opinion more easier to justify the switch.
@BriChi yeah didn't see it till after I posted, cool thanks.

correct, in RB you would set a cue and hit memory in the top right of the software to save it, you can do the same on the Nexus or 2000mk1, set ur desired cue on the deck and hit memory on the deck, No RB needed. and yes, I agree with you on the other points, would be nice
Thanks @BriChi will try that later on. I was under the impression that you could not because in that movie they mentioned the markers that were made in Rekordbox.
