CDj2000 NEXUS - iPhone WIFI AD HOC Connection suggestion ... Or is it possible ??!

Ok - I'm using my new Nexus'S live tonight - and they are working well, but one I have noticed is if I hard wire connect my IPhone , and have a "personal hotspot" at the same time - I have my iPad 1 next to me - if I run them both in Rekordbox 2.0.1, it finds the hot spot and wants to connect with the WIFI ad hoc the iPhone has created to form the personal hotspot link in RB

If I search via the LOAD option, it picks up the network ... Please check out my pics ... Though it doesn't connect at the minute - is it possible you can look at this with a firmware update - as there could be alot of possibilitys creating an AD Hoc network WITHOUT the need of a wireless router IE less wires - no more power connectors - the iPhone could act the network switch. With bait of an update this wouold be a fantastic update ... PIONEER PLEASE LISTON !! Cheers

I'm not sure if the iPhone can handle this sort of functionality but I've put it through as a suggestion.

I kinda understand what you guys are saying.  Kinda like putting those usb wifi cards on a pc to go online.

Problem is...I haven't seen a router that can function on a USB connection.  I highly doubt Pioneer can go that route just because the fact that no  Cisco, Netgear and all major network companies don't do that.

From from understand, an ethernet cable is NEEDED for a router/switch, etc to function like it does.

Maybe to clear this out, if ethernet cable wasn't needed for this, they wouldn't had put it on it and we would had gotten a usb jack plus home routers would be all USB, etc etc.

I hate to bust your balls but that is not happening.  Buy a router/switch.

Don't get offended, I just saved you time and money.

I'm connecting my iPhone and MacBook Pro via Airport Express and you don't need any ethernet cables for it to work just a power outlet.

See attached picture for my setup.

Oakstream, am I missing something there? What's the airport express actually doing? From what I can tell, your MBP is connected via LAN to the DJM-2000's built in switch, and the iPhone is connected to a player via USB, so what's the wifi for? Both devices should be accessible by Pro DJ Link without wifi involved.

Back on topic, the iPhone can certainly provide an internet connection over USB, I use it with my MBP quite often when there's no wifi, but whether or not the feature is available depends on your network provider.

@Jon The only way to transfer music files to iOS devices is via WiFi, that's what the Airport Express is for. Android devices can connect via USB and WiFi.
