Yes they are compatible, tracks can be shared between the devices using pro link. Obviously the sync functionality of the nexus will not work, nor will the zoomed waveform be displayed on the mk1.

And if you will use CDJ-2000's together with 2x CDJ-2000 Nexus, you should use the latest firmware on the CDJ-2000's.
Using not the latest Firmware on the CDJ-2000 means, that the new Nexus-Features are not availiable at the CDJ-2000 Nexus-Players, during the "old" CDJ-2000 is connected to the Network.
@Looshus: I think, there are no new features on the "old" CDJ-2000! The Firmware-Updare just make the compatibility to use both Players in the same Network without loosing features on the Nexus-Players.
Means:
2x Nexus and 1x MK1 with old firmware works like 3x MK1
2x Nexus and 1x MK1 with new Firmware works like 2xNexus (with his new functions) and 1x MK1 (without Nexus-Funktions).
@Nicola > Yes, they are compatible to a certain degree - the CDJ2000nexus can read the additional data from a USB stick / SD card etc that may be connected to a CDJ2000 (MK1).
