2000 NEXUS: When scratching on first beat, Waveforms vanish and wont come back unless you reboot deck

So we all know scratching on the first beat of a track on Pioneer decks is a joke, we have to turn off AUTO CUE or it goes to the previous track and then stops to cue, so the workaround, not the answer, the WORKAROUND is to turn off AUTO CUE because the engineers wont add a buffer or stop the deck from returning to the previous track, But sure enough on the Nexus decks, this is buggy, If you scratch on the first beat it jumps back and forth between the previous and current track as "normal" in the Pioneer world, The problem is if you do this enough the waveforms are now gone and no matter what you do other then rebooting the deck, they do not come back on any track, And in some cases like in the video, It puts the deck in the "waiting wheel of death" which again required a reboot. Deck 2 in this case has the bottom wave gone and no matter what track I load it's still not showing up yet the scrolling wave is there, As usual, makes no sense

this was just to capture on video so dont judge the mixing or scratching :)   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I9aRLo0xvOo

Holy crap. I think you got the worst of the worst brother. Even though mines are not perfect by any means I can't reproduce most of your issues. I even hammered my hot cues this morning and couldn't get it to freeze. I actually can't get it to play continuously even though is set to in the utility menu. If I return them I get charged 20% restocking fee so there I loose a bunch plus shipping them back. I can only imagine what all this does to their resale value. On the bright side I'm playing the lotto tomorrow, if I win ill post a video of me smashing them with a sledge hammer and torching them. Lol. :-$

Brichi AKA The guinea pig has been infected with a new symptom.

We will place him in quarantine until new updates.

Sorry to see you have so many probs...  how long will it take before these decks are perfect ???

@Northrider 23 I can't imagine a dealer enforcing a restocking fee on players that are so bug ridden they are unusable. Make a phone call and explain that Pioneer has done a terrible job of working out bugs in the units before bringing them to market and that they are completely unreliable. If they still want to charge you a restocking fee - ask them to get it from Pioneer.

LOL,,, the guinea pig days are over!!

Ryan, I think you're right, When I return mine, If they even try and charge me a restocking fee I will laugh in their face and show them the countless amount of issues. Pioneer should actually cross off the MP3 decal where it says plays "mp3, aiff, acc, wav". then at least they would be clear and can say "hey, we told you it couldnt play mp3's reliably"

Brichi i could not reproduce that bug. I used my usb drive as usual and only mp3's on it. MT was on so it would be easier for an error, but nothing happent. Just the usual bug where the mp3 jumps to previous song http://youtu.be/P98wCzt0UIo

thanks for testing tasos, the way you are doing vs mine is mine jumps back to the previous trak a lot more because I move the platter at a wider rate isntead of tight the way you are scratching, If you constantly go back and forth which constantly (if moving the jog wheel a lot) will jump back and forth between tracks, it will disappear, in your video you really never go back to the previous that much so it wouldnt happen

Is this maybe related with the way someone sets the beatgrind on the rekordbox?

No need to thank me man, i thank u. we are here to help eachother to find solutions. :)

I try again the way you scrach. Did you see whole video? after the middle i dont use autocue anymore and it would be more your scrach way maybe?

Have you tried to change the play mode from Continue to Single?

See attached picture from the CDJ-2000NXS manual page 38.

this is really annoying for me to even with the CDJs nexus 2 first beat scratching stoping the song if you go to far back on continues mode and in single player mode the beat moves around from the first position
