CDJ-2000 versions

you will never get an answer to that question from a pio official!

There were a few different versions of the Mk1 as discussed with my repair center,

A while back there were new screens fitted and had different assemblies internally,

Im assuming that may be the answer, but im stabbing in the dark.

From 2011's units theres a small sticker jn the bottom of CDJ - "CDJ2000-2". New package with another LAN cable in it, new screen in unit, and,I think, slightly different hardware...If you need - I can make some photos. I have both new and old versions of the original CDJ 2000.

Thanks for the responses.  I guess my main question is, is there any reason why I should return one and get a matching pair?  Side by side, do they look the same or are there minor differences?  One has a manufacturing date of 2012 and the other is 2010.  It's possible that if there is a different screen or internal build between them, perhaps they found some potential issues with the old build and improved it??

I haven't opened the boxes yet in case I need to return one.

Kris , If I was you , I would return the cdj with manufacturing date 2010!

Where did they even get a new cdj which was made in 2010??

But it is for sure that there are little changes between the 2010 and 2012 model.

Both my decks have had a broken play / pause led.... It was a " common"  problem. There were multiple reports on the forums...

It could be that they changed the LED in later manufactured cdj's.

I'm just saying this as example ...

Thanks for all the advise.  I started the process or returning the 2010 one.  It was purchased online so its a bit of a PITA.

The only thing you'd notice is that the screens on the CDJ would have a slightly different colour tint when compared side by side.

@Kris > Apart from a slight cosmetic change, there is absolutely no difference between one CDJ and the other. I really wouldn't go to the bother / expense of returning the unit.
