Problems with Saving Cue points/Loops to USB

Hi everyone,

This is my first post. I have spent some time reading other posts and haven't found my answer so forgive me if this has already been talked about. This is my problem.

I am trying to save hot cues and loop points to either my USB, or from my USB to an SD Card so I can permanently have all the information stored and all I have to do is just insert my USB and SD card on an cdj 200 and it will bring up all my saved hot cues and loop points. I have tried to do this a number of ways.

By Loading my USB, then my sd card, then load a track, then set hot cue points, then push memory. Then I unload the usb and sd card, wait 30 seconds, then re-insert the usb and then sd card, bring up the same track i saved the information on and it is either not there or it is there but i cant recall it by pushing either right or left call buttons, or by pushing the memory button.
By using rekordbox to set the cue point and loop, then export and then load on my cdj. Ive only tried this with just a usb stick and not an sd card. the reason is because I cannot get rekordbox to load my track onto my sd card because there is no option for it in the export menu.

All I want to do is be able to save cue point information on my usb (or sd card if i have to use one), and be able to recall it anytime, anywhere on any cdj so when I play a gig in another city, I know I can just plug and play and all my points and loops will be saved. I have updated both the firmware on my cdj 2000 to version 4.20 and updated rekordbox to the latest version as well and still am having problems. Does anyone know what I am doing wrong?

@Sam > are you trying to set the cues and loops in Rekordbox or on the CDJ?

I've tried both ways and haven't had any luck either way. I prefer to set the points/loops on the cdj itself but have had no luck being able to save the information to either usb or sd card

It doesn't sound like you are using rekordbox correctly. You need to have the files on your internal harddrive. Then you set the cues / loops on the track in the software. Then you click on that track that you have just edited and need to export to USB / SD.

On the CDJ, hit the Record / Call button, set your cues / loops and then hit the Record / Call button again. Thats it, saved for ever more.

Im really at a loss here. I just tried storing hot cues and loops from a song on my internal hard drive, then exported to my usb, then put it in the machine. I see that the cues are set, and when I push call it scrolls through them, but I cant fire them off using the hot cue buttons.

Then I just tried to set new hot cues from the cdj using the record/call button and then i took out the usb drive and put it back in and it showed the pointsi made but i still couldnt fire off using the hot cue buttons. This is really frustrating because Usually i can figure this stuff out. Am I still doing something wrong?
