From my testings so far, It has not introduced and new bugs which is obviously a good thing, The freezing for me is gone but minor issues like "long loops cause emergency loop" and some browsing hiccups still exist, I am sure they will iron this out in the next update being this update was based mainly on stability of playing IMO

CDJ2K Nexus FW 1.06 feedback
My players did freeze up but it was a once in a while incident, even using hot cues with master tempo on. I'm actually still running 1.02. Looking for feedback on this new update as it is my understanding that we are unable to perform a firmware downgrade. I know many are reporting that the freezing issues are gone, but I'm also looking for your experiences in the upgrade as a whole.
Thanks fellas.

Thanks brichi. Good to hear.
no problem, VERY happy with the update
you're not going to get a better seal of approval than from brichi 'the firmware wrecker'. i've had zero problems too - i'd recommend updating. these players are just brilliant, i've had so much fun on these the last few weeks...
brichi 'the firmware wrecker'.
Love it!!! LOL
Thanks for the feedback all, I'm glad this worked out so well.
I'm still experiencing issues when I scratch or cue a track. When I release the sample or track,it pauses for a second then starts. It causes my mix to off. Doesn't happen all the time but on average 75% usually. I've tried with and without sync, and with and without quantize. I really hope this gets ironed out due to my sets involve a lot of scratching.
hello,
All it's ok for me at this moment .
1.06 update is great, still a couple of minor glitches I will document as I go along. I am using them with USB. However I am still getting freezing with Rekordbox. I will make some videos and document those as I go as well. Now that majority of the bugs are worked out... I just have to hound Gavin for a deal on two additional decks for my "inconvenience" ! :)
Huh yeah, good luck with that ;)
guys anyone can explain how to update
I download a file , put it on usb, turn cdm 2000 nexus with USB/RELOOP got a sign insert USB. I insert it and nothing happens ! my version 1.03 tried to put 1.06 ! what i am doing wrong?
Did you unzip the 1.06 firmware file and place the C2KNXS.UPD file on the USB drive (by itself NOT in a folder)?
Not had any great problems yet, with earlier versions I had some issues with freezing and a few glitches already outlined by others elsewhere in the forum, I did notice that 1 of my players display jumped, kinda paused for a second then reloaded the image but the audio was not affected
Thanks guys for quick answers.
Problem was in my USB it was in Mac os not FAT32 =)
My players did freeze with the old firmware. Now they work as the should. Tried them out yesterday with no porblem!
Well yesterday was hard time try out for my decks.. After that i had to say that i had no freezing at all. Everything was fine exept a few things i wannt to mention.
1. First of all is the loading time of mp3's with hot cue autoloading enabled. They should load faster than that. I mean if pioneer says that hot cue auto load is not possible at the cdj's 2000, then at the nexus it should be possible to load much faster than the regular 2k's....
When i sort the tracks in a folder , lets say by bpm, then if i go to another folder, this setting stay's and i see the tracks sorted by bpm in that folder too. I have to do 3 click's to set the sorting "by defauIt". I don't wannt this to happen. Can i change that?
At some mp3's i lost the big waveform (it happens in about 10-15% of my mp3's and they are all clean and checked for errors). It is a issue, not a big one, but it is.
Try to make a loop bigger than 8 beat, manuall with classic in-out buttons, then at 20-30% i got a drift sound for a half second and then it continues to play normal in beat.
Overall i'm very happy with my nexuses. Small bugs still there, but my trust to pioneer is strong back and they sort the litle bugs that remain out.

exactly!! I hate how slow the auto load load is, the tracks hot cue load should be instant if thats a selling point, The worst part is that they sped up the hot cue load on the mk1's, the mk1's can now load the hot starts faster then the Nexus manually. Also, all they did was add in to the code to look for cues and load them, I dont see why this cannot be done for mk1 users, it's all in the programming obviously since all it is is a macro type thing to mimic the user holding call and hit hoy cues.
Please speed up the hot cue load times Pioneer, I know we all wanted this, but I thought the times would be A LOT faster.

this I have complained about too, the menu has changed and made it slower to navigate, for one they added this little swipe animation whenever you click on something, we dont need animation, we need speed, I did a comparison video of the menu speed from a mk1 to a nexus and the mk1 blows it away. Also we could lose the first option menu of "sort/playstate" Put playstate somewhere else so it's one less menu we have to navigate from.
Yup Brichi. I hope on the next update that loading speed (with hot cue auto load) will be improvt big time. And the menu navigation also. I totaly agree that we don't need swipe effects instead of speed. We need functionality and no effects.
And please... don't tell us we have to wait till next generation of players to get faster load times....
Guys, your feedback is welcome but for actual issues please open your own threads.
Hi Gavin, not wanting to repeat my self (again), but ive mentioned the USB Hard Disk issue, that seems to be effecting the Nexus and Aero, ive mentioned it in this thread, but have had no update on the issue, could you please give a status update on whats happening please.
Ive tried reformatting my HD (again), and still the issue continues.
This is a pic of the problem . Ill try get a video soon.
@DJcccc - you need to start a new thread mate as Gavin said above. This way it can be flagged to the engineers to look into properly.
No probs Phil
