First, I need to point out the obvious: You're complaining that a **CD/Audio player** doesn't control video. That's not what it was designed to do, so obviously you'd need to find a work-around, like Armin and his techs have done. I have worked with him and the setup shown in the video on multiple occasions, and it's a pretty clever work-around, but it IS still a work-around. This is an example of clever DJs pushing their equipment past the normal limits of what it was designed to do. You can hardly blame Pioneer for shortcomings in this area.
Now, other options for running video along with audio:
Invest in some DVJ-1000s. Pioneer have made a DJ-style deck designed exactly for the purpose you are describing.
Use Serato with Timecode on CDs/USB/SDcard. Although I've never done it myself, I believe that Serato now supports playing and triggering videos directly from the software; all you'd have to do is send your video out of the computer with a second video card, or out of a laptop as an external display.
If those two options don't suit you, you may be able to use Traktor to send out timecode which can be sync'd to another computer (which plays the actual videos), or even sync to another piece of software on the same computer.
A final option you may want to explore is to use your Pioneer mixer as a MIDI device to trigger videos on an external computer. You may also be able to get a timecode signal out of the mixer, which could give you a rudimentary tempo.
