[SOLVED] help needed setting up traktor with cdj 850

ive just purchased a pair of cdj 850's and im having problems getting it to work with traktor using macbook pro

ive downloaded traktor pro 2.6 update and cdj's have 108 firmware

.i have also downloaded the traktor/cdj850 mappings off the pioneer website

ive set up the aggregator so deck a is on 0/1 and deck b 3/4

ive assigned both cdj's to lap top via menu button as per instructions

if i play off the  macbook pro the sound comes through both channels on the mixer as it should but none of the cdjs will operate

and nothing apart from connected appears on the screen,

can anyone help as its doing my head in

cheers tezza

after hours looking on the net the problem is solved, for anyone else who has this problem here is the short term fix until traktor sort the HID support.

there is a connection issue between the cdj 850 and the usb3 ports on the macbook pro (models after 2011)

to solve the issue you need to plug an unpowered usb2 hub between the two devices and then it works fine as a controller,

Can you plug both CDJ's to the same Hub, or do you need 2 hubs?

Thanks, will try tonight with 1 and see how we go.

Are the decks now working as they should, setting cues properly, good jog-wheel interaction, etc?

The only thing that's not great is the pitch increments , could be tighter

You can assign sync to the reverse button , someone on here has done it , but I'm not sure how you do it as I imagine you can tighten up the pitch control in the midi settings .
Would be great if someone could give instructions on how to do it .

I think that's all done in the controller manager, where the MIDI mapping is. I think I saw that the jog wheel has 129 output codes (+/- 64, plus 'neutral'). Which should mean that if you setup 129 midi mappings for the jog wheel, you should get input that's very close to cdj's without traktor.

I'm only guessing though, as I haven't even had inputs from the cdj's working :) will have a play if/when I get it all working

I cannot believe a $9 hub makes everything work, but it did. Big thankyou Terry, you made my wife very happy.

I used an LG cube hub, unpowered, and hooked both cdjs into that. The mappings worked perfectly, I had to re-do the audio settings, but they worked fine eventually (go into audio MIDI mapper to fix).

I agree that the jog wheel is a little imprecise, but otherwise everything works. I'm also letting NI and my local dj store know, as they both provided some assistance, but obviously didn't know about this issue/fix.
