Get it together pioneer.

Decades of technological innovation on an amazing product and the user IS NOT ABLE TO SORT ITS TRACKS BY DATE CREATED?? What a shame....

Whats the point of being able to sort them on rekordbox by DATE CREATED if  the user can not sort them that same way in the decks...

Come on is a really simple firmware update and so useful...

I personally play and organize my music by micro genres  and by date...so when i import all my library into rekordbox its all added on the same date so when i go and play i simply have everything messed up disorganized because the cdj only sorts them by date added not by date created. that means all tracks have the same date.

I ve been waiting for this kind of upgrade for soo long already and i had read before that pioneer hasn't done it because it takes processing power from the deck??...come on man pioneer itself saying their products have not enough processing power to do this simple task?

Djs have big libraries of music and when I am playing out and I want to play my latest tracks I DO NOT  have enough time to go through the whole playlist just to find the track im looking for just because "the forefront of technological advancement dj product" doesnt let me sort it by date created. contradictory if you ask me.

I know you have posted this in like 4 different threads but i will say this here, I know it's not the sort you want on the fly but you can in RB sort your column by date created and then have rb "renumber" that playlist so its in numeric order based on the date created sort, Then on the cdj the default sort is the number order of that playlist which would be you "date created" sort from RB.

Hope that may help you out a little

sorry about the multiple posts but last night experience got me a little bit fired up.

I know there could be a couple of ways of going around this problem but what about a real solution?

Hey Brichi, how do i make RB remember the playlist in numeric order?

just tried adding the track number and disc number column but they all say 0 (zero)

heres the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yk3vWhcBUm4

you can see i have it in alphabetical order and the number column shows 1-59, then I sort by date created from oldest to new and now the number column is out of order, so simply right click the date created top column and choose renumber, now that playlist is numbered by default as you "date created" which should be the default the CDJ reads when you go into that playlist

amazing. i wish i knew this yesterday. thank you.

i recently got a new mac and my whole library is now on the same date and last night I was a complete mess.

Now, for some reason my RB doesnt show me the "numeric" column but i was albe to do the "remember track order" so as long as it works im fine.

ill try again tonight to see if it worked.

Thanks again.

Your numeric column might be hidden.  drag the edge of the column a little and you should be able to see the numbers. (probably) (Note: the number column doesn't actually have a header, so the column can look invisible with the black on black theme of Rekordbox)

Also, once you reorder by date, you should then renumber by the track number (which would actually be in the same order), however, once you do that, you can then drag and drop tracks within the playlist to whichever you spot you choose and it will change the order number.
