Yeah. I think the wifi part is a tad (well, very) misleading - I falsely assumed that the units had wifi chips built into them to communicate back to your laptop. But, clearly not. The units need to be wired into a router.

If you're using a DJM-2000 and just need a WiFi connection then I can recommend Apple Airport Express 2nd Gen. It works perfect with my iPhone 4s and MacBook Pro.

At first I think it has a built in wifi chip as well..

I was initially disappointed that the CDJ-2000nexus didn't have WLAN capability built in, but then I realized it's not all that bad for a number of reasons.  First of all, the more complexity you add to something, the more likely there will be bugs or issues.  I think there is probably a higher overhead in dealing with wireless networking and I don't want that to ever affect the stability or performance of the units.  Wireless networking is still a rapidly evolving technology and it's nice to think you can use any wifi router in the future (802.11ac).  Considering how expensive these players are, I think it's not insane to expect end users to provide their own wireless networking when it costs so relatively little.  I'm using a dd-wrt wifi router in a client bridge configuration, but I'm not even close to feeling comfortable DJing mostly using wireless.  I'm hoping to upgrade routers and use the 5GHz band and I'll see from there.  DJing over the wired rekordbox works quite well though and I'm happy to report positive experiences.  Don't be too mad is all I'm saying.  At the same time, I think it's kind of messed up how Pioneer made everyone think they had wireless capability, even though I'm kinda glad they don't for the upgrade/stability reason I mentioned.  

BTW I'm using a WRT54G but any wifi router should work, just don't use the WAN connection or know what you are doing. I love the fact that you can use a single regular patch style ethernet cable on the two units.  The new Cisco Linksys routers offer a bridge mode that should make it easy.  I have a EA2700 refurbished from their outlet operation and I think I will get more and bridge them and see how that goes.  

Another way to put it is, from a networking/security nerd's perspective, you probably don't want your players talking wireless.
