[SOLVED] YAY, just ordered my CDJ 2000 Nexus......

Im a first time user of the Pioneer CDJ series. What is the first thing I need to do with my CDJ Nexus? I don't want to be too overwhelmed so I'm asking for some insight from CDJ USERS. Thanx DJ6Sixx

biggest thing is in RB, If you have any blue triangles next to the tracks you need to "analyze missing data" so the moving waveform appears,

RB must be up to date to LINK with the Nexus decks.

if you want to use auto loading of hot starts you must enable it in rb, its a new column you can activate

Firs thing you should do is "update" your cdj's. Congrats. They are awesome.

My New CDJ NEXUS was delivered last night, and I will be setting things up after work. As I stated, I'm new to the entire CDJ and Rekordbox environment. Can anyone recommend a link/or site that will assist me (step by step) set up my CDJ to the latest firmware and Rekordbox collection. I'm going to read the instruction provided on the CD ROM provided as well.

Thanx

Only had a chance to transfer and analyze my ITUNES tracks to Rekordbox. Just for heads-up, when Rekordbox finishes analyzing all the tracks, does this mean all loops, etc will be synchronized like my tracks in TRAKTOR? Also, if I'm not using my laptop, and decide to use USB sticks, will the music From USB sticks be analysized as well?

no, RB is a fresh start, you need to create all loops and cues again

yes, once the music is analyzed, "export" them from rb to usb stick, all waves, set cues and loops will transfer too

I appreciate all the help and advice. Thus far, I read up on a few things and I think I'm ready to give it a go. Let me make sure that I did all the things  to do before I go on. Here is a list of things that I did today. Please let me know if the following is what I need to do to be up and running.....

Downloaded and analyzed all my Itunes tracks to Rekordbox

Downloaded Latest Firmware for the CDJ 2000 Nexus (Version 1.6)

Didn't have to download CDJ driver software, because I'm using a OS.(haven't connected CDJ with Macbook just yet to see CDJ dirver)

Downloaded Mac OS Tool (CDJ__Aggregator)....what is this for in simplistic terms?

This is all I've manage to do thus far.

Am I now ready to go live with the CDJ? Or is there something else that I need to know?

@JCstudios, I mean't vey good Flash-drive Stick. I have around 3500 tracks in itunes, and know in rekordbox. Watching some of the videos, I've seen a few Pioneer Sticks, but can't seem to find them on-line.

the pioneer sticks are branded by pioneer and used for demo purposes. I know the Patriots are pretty good and recommended by Pulse, just look for one that has decent read/write speeds

Hey Guys, I use a Macbook pro,  the two downloads I did yesterday, (Latest CDJ Nexus firmware version 1.6), when I click on the download** C2KND.UPD*, I receive a message_, 'There is no application set to open download'_, and the other download* CDJ_Aggregator**, the message states_, ' error, please check your device connections'_. Do I need to re-download these items?

NEED HELP....I downloaded the lastest CDJ Nexus firmware, (1.6), but I cannot seem to open the file(C2KNXS.UPD) to finish new update my CDJ Nexus. I am using a Macbook Pro. How do I open the file. This is really stressing me out?

@6Sixx > You download the .zip file from Pioneer that contains the update. Then when you extract the file from the .zip on your computer you get the CK2KNXS.UPD file. You place this file on the root of a USB stick. Turn on your CDJ2000nexus while pressing and holding the USB source selector and the Reloop/Exit button. Then insert the USB stick when prompted on screen. This will update your player.
