[CLOSED] Now Loading Again !!!

Okay so I've been a good boy I've followed advice and shelled out more money on a Netgear108 hub as recommended by Pioneer and tonight I couldn't get a single track to load onto my first Nexus player. Since 2.0.3 was installed it seems increasingly difficult to get an active link by ProDJ link and tonights issues were just too much.

Question - should I switch the hub off when the decks are not in use ? Is there some guidance as to how to operate things.

I am so frustrated with all this which I wouldn't mind if I was using cheap kit, but I've a 2012 £2k iMac, djm900 and 2 CDJNXS connected via expensive cables to a net gear 108 hub.

WHAT THE FCUK IS GOING ON !!!!!

I should add I swapped cables around powered down the decks and eventually got a successful link. When these players fail they do so EPICALLY !

Allied Telesis: AT-FS708-8 they recommended the -10  but i never had a problem with my link but had every other issue, wich i think is because of rekord box but thats a whole another story.

This is probably not the problem,  but I had a slight difficulty with my laptop dropping the connection to the router with the CDJs attached and connecting to another network that was stronger signal and I had been using previously  (my home wireless network).  I made my computer (Macbook pro ) forget that network and then had no other problems.

As I say, this won't be a problem in your case, cos you'll have tried it, but it might be for some people.

Theres probably some better way of sorting this, though.

Make sure that the router\switch you are using is switched on and functional.

After that switch on the cdj's and mixer.

What happens is that the cdj's and mixer will request an IP address. Most likely you won't have a DHCP server on this setup, so the CDJ's and Mixer will use a self assigned IP address. It will check if the self-assigned IP address is already in use before using it.

If the switch\router\hub is not operational, theoretically, the cdj's and mixer can use the same IP address (small change, but possible)

So making sure that the switch\router\hub is active will eliminate these kind of issues

Ramon, Not doubting your ingo but I never paid attention to the order I turn things on and never had an issue. The decks with attempt to get an address once it senses a connection like the router turning on. I have plugged in my switch after the decks have been on and did 4 hour gigs with no issues

RamonCC - thanks for the response your order is exactly what I do however the router/switch is left on for protracted periods of time which may potentially be the issue.....? if it's not then frankly the nexus system is total and utter garbage and not fit for purpose.

@Paulm72: I don't think so, once they have their IP addresses, they will keep it.

@BriChi: Hmmm, my bad english.. Tried to say ' small chance but possible' . The reason I do it this way, is that I have a router with Wifi, and DHCP server enabled.

I used to switch everything on with one knob, and then my cdj's and mixer have a 169.254.x.x address (self assigned) because the dhcp server on the router hasn't been booted up yet. When I switch on my laptop and connect to wifi I will get a proper IP address from the WiFi router, which is 10.1.x.x in my case. So the laptop won't see the pioneer stuff. Then I reboot the cdj, they get a proper IP address as well, and everything works ok.

Still the pioneer decks will go in emergency loop regularly when I use Wifi.

I'm going to try to use it only with cable for a while, see if that helps.
