Hi guys ,

I have a problem with my USB with Rekordbox on it while using it on 2 x the CDJ 2000. My CDJ's and also other CDJ's keep repeating this error (E8302 (B194) Error) and not once in a gig , no sometimes 3 or 4 times on 1 night ! I've reanalysed my tracks , formated my USB , I tried everything but nothing works.

In all of a sudden it stops playing the track(s) and after that I need to restart the CDJ 2000 to get it working again. It's not a specific file or number , because when I replay all the tracks after the crash it spins perfectly.

I'm using the Corsair Flash Survivor Stealth 64gb USB (3.0) and my mate is also using this product , but doesn't have the problems like I do. Everytime I put my USB in the computer AFTER using Rekordbox or on a CDJ it asks to control my USB for problems/bugs and every time I'm 'repairing' it is useless.

After 2 months I thought , why not ask ? I'm very patience normally , but now I'm getting crazy and the crowd is also getting crazy of those silent moments. I hope you guys can help me , because I'm hopeless at this moment.

@Jazzlyn > Where do you get your tracks from? What format are they? Does the error occur with one track or several tracks at random? Can you reproduce the error at will?

Yeah , i stepped over on SD's and I really have no problems at all. I think that Rekordbox has problems with USB's over 32 GB , maybe because they need to be formatted from exFAT to FAT32.I'm not sure though ! But I think it's kinda weird that I don't have any problems at all with my 32 GB SD's and when I'm using the USB I'm getting problems all the time.

Only up to 32GB is officially supported on the players, as noted in the manual. Anything beyond that limit is not supported so yes, some sticks may cause problems.

Are you happy that your problems in relation to these players are resolved?

hi gavin & jazzlyn,

got the same issue over here. player freeze during playback with error code 3194 or B194 (not sure).

i also use the corsair survivor stealth like many other djs. did´nt know about the size limitation and i´m using the 64GB corsair since half  a year. no probs for about 6month with these usb´s but now it has started to freeze sometimes during playback 1-2times per night. player switch off and on resloves the prob for a while. thought it has to do with the lan connection, since the 2nd player does also crash a few minuntes after the freeze from the first player.

changed the lan splitter and cables but no effect so far. do you guys think that its just about the ”over” size of the stick ? is sd card also limited to 32GB?

how about the use of a little usb hard disc ? is there also a limitation of 32GB ???

thanks guys,

matt

@Matty > What firmware version are you on?

Technically, only up to 32GB is supported as in up to that capacity should definitely work. Above that is unsupported but there's no reason why they shouldn't work - don't get too hung up on it - its unlikely to be your problem.

Can you reproduce the error or does it happen at random?

thank you gavin, it should be the latest firmware, but i´m not at the club right now to check it. it happened on cdj2000 (not nexus). never had this issue with my corsair survivor 64GB sticks before, but now the load of the sticks is about 34GB, so 2GB over the ”limit”. thought that this could be the reason. don't know if the official 32GB support about the stick size, or about the load size. but as i said before i went over the 32Gb, all has worked fine for about 6 month. i think i can't reproduce and it happens random. but if it happens next time i will go to notice the track that i can try to reproduce it with the same mp3. in case of reaching the 32GB limit, just started thinking about a change from usb to an external SSD drive in a usb cover. what do you think about this ? thanx mate.

Again, don't get too hung up on the officially supported limit.

I think its likely you've had one or two tracks that may have caused an issue (artwork can sometimes be problematic).

Are the CDJs connected directly to each other or via a switch?

thanks gavin, cdj´s are connected via switch. the player with the usb stick inside has freezed first during playback in the middle of a track (not during loading process) and the error code 3194 hits up. the second player without stick has freezed a few moments after the first cdj.

@Matty > What make / brand switch are you using?

It does sound like the problem is with the USB stick - more likely the files therein.

@gavin: we had a NETGEAR 5 port  10/100 Fast Ethernet. Now we have changed for a NETGEAR Gigabit Switch. current cables are CAT5e. Last weekends i have worked with 2 (cloned) sticks. each CDJ 2000 with one stick and no LINK function enabled. there were´nt any issues so far with this workflow. thank you

@Matty > My apologies if I misunderstood you but are you saying changing the network switch resolved your issue?

@gavin: yes, we have changed the switch from 10/100 to a gigabit one, but i also had one crash with the new switch. since i used 2 sticks instead of one and didn't used the usb link fuction all went fine during the last weekends. i guess there isn´t much to discuss for now at this level, so i´m going to work on and will watch out if i gonna have another trouble or not. going to keep on using my corsair survivor 64GB sticks. keep n touch and big thanks mate.
