[SOLVED] Voltage help?

Hi guys..

I have a question with a Pioneer Djm 850 + two Cdj-2000.

Both says 110V on the back and i am using them in Europe (two pin)

I did the same two years ago and my shop told me that i just needed to swap out the cables to two pin and they will work just fine in Europe.

I did and they are still working great.

Will they work different with a transformer?

(it says only 120V 60hz on the back on all three)

Also i just bought a 120V Pioneer Rmx 1000 from the Usa and he also told me to just change the adapter/cable to two pin and it will work.

Is that possible on this also or do i need a transformer on this one?

Hi Ronny,

I guess that the RMX1000 as most of the modern electronic equipments has a switching power supply, therefore it works at any given voltage between 100 and 240 Volts.

However before plugging it in Europe you should double (or triple!) check: it should be written on the power supply itself, for instance on my desk now I have a Nokia phone charger and a Dell laptop power supply and on both of them it's written on their back "110-240 V". If not written on the power supply itself, it must definitely be stated in the user manual.

I find rather strange that on your equipment it says only 120V 60 Hz, but maybe it's a US norm, afaik here in Europe the whole voltage range is always written on power supplies.

Check again on your hardware, your manual and maybe ask your vendor before plugging it in Europe.!

Any equipment with a listed voltage rating should only be used with a mains rated for that voltage; if the player or mixer says 120V, don't give it 240V. The RMX has an auto-switching power supply capable of 110-240V so all you need is a plug adapter, not a transformer.
