Hey guys! For the next few months I'm going to have access to a pair of CDJ 2000 (Nexus) and a DJM 900 as well. I'm BEYOND EXCITED as I normally could never afford to as much as touch these things!! (hah).
Anyways, instead of just loading up some songs into Rekordbox and xferring them to an SD card and throwing it in a CDJ and crossfading back and forth with the Master Sync on, I'd really like to use this opportunity to LEARN how to use everything these offer.
I have some experience (minimal) with vinyl from years back - so the basics such as beat matching aren't so much what I'm interested in. What I'm VERY interested in is finding any sort of online class, tutorial write up, or any info source for that matter where I can learn everything about the CDJ's, DJM 900, Rekordbox integration, etc. So in short, I'm looking for basic beginner DJ type lessons, but specifically geared to the newer Pioneer line. To further clarify, the questions below are the kind of things I'd like to learn.
What are hot cues? Would I use Rekordbox to set up Hot Cues?
What is slip mode and when is it a good time to use it?
What is the difference between CDJ and Vinyl mode?
Any recommendations on where I'd find an information outlet on this kind of stuff? I've been reading the manual online and it's been helpful and all, but I tend to learn better with visual guidance.
** I also have the same interest in learning all the functions on the DJM 900 as well but didn't want to cross-post.
Anyone who could point me in the right direction would be helping me tons! Thanks in advance!
