[SOLVED] CDJ 2000 Info display

In RB go preferences and then export. Here you can select the things you want to see on the screen of the CDJ.

Hi Kris, thanks for the reply. I have done all that, that gives me the option to seaach via Genre if I wish. What I am trying to do is get the Genre to show when you press the "info" tab. On the attched file you can see the genre "dance". My decks do not show this.

When you're going to export in RB you find 2 sort options.

Kris, that's for the sorting options, Paul is talking about the info that is displayed when a track is highlighted or playing and you hit "INFO" to see all the info of the track, totally different and not customizable in RB

Paul, Does your deck show the genre symbol and just not the name next to it or the whole line is missing? I am not home to check mine but I can tonight

can you post a pic of what yours looks like?

Thanks again for the replys so far. No, mine dosen't show the genre symbol. I have attached a photo of what mine looks like. If I was to scroll down I have the "ratings" and the "colour". So the Info on my screen would read:

Track Title

Artist

Album

Track duration

Bpm

Key

Rating

Colour

I have to play around to see when i get home in an hour or so but looking at the manual it looks like the info that displays on the current deck differs from if you look at the info on a remote deck, weird. I attached a pic from the manual so you can see for now but I will get to this later to see what is up

Paul, why not just copy your genre field data into the album field? Most dance tracks don't relate to albums anyway....

Paul, After I looked at mine it seems as you are browsing tracks you cannot see genre unless you do what phil said but if the track is loaded in the deck and playing, then you can see genre is you hit INFO and scroll down

Paul. Got to how you can do this by changing info in rb so Kris was correct by changing some settings.

plug in your drive into RB or if you link go into preferences and make sure under "category" you have genre on the right hand hand side as an active category, then it will show up under info when a track is playing, I attached a pic "1" so you can see the RB setting

also under "column" setting you can set it to genre so when you browse tracks the right hand side shows the genre like in pic "2" below

Hey last maybe a last comment on this subject.

If you want to change the config of the CDJ you just prepare it in Rekordbox. Once behind the decks just load your config. Ease as that.

And I'll give you an extra tip. Always select a certain color. After loading your config you can see on which deck it's already activated.
