@Andrew > It can happen that the spring underneath continues to make noise for an extra second or so when spinning the jog wheel. Where did you buy the refurbished unit from?

Folgen[SOLVED] cdj 900 jogwheel bearing/gear sound
I just purchased a refurbished 900, just wondering if its normal that after i spin my jog wheel and its completely stopped that i hear something inside still spinning for about a second after the jogwheel has stopped. I went into the shop today and tried spinning the jog wheel several times and various speeds on other models such as the 1000, 2000, 800 and 850 and seems like none of those had that same "after effect" sound that my jogwheel has.
Is this normal? My jog wheel feels alright, but i just dont feel good that my cdj has this problem and every other model i tried out didnt have that sound even when the jogwheel stopped spinning

I bought the refurbished unit from the pioneer electronics website.
Although there may not be a problem with having the noise i prefer to have another unit.
@Andrew > In that case, you should contact Pioneer to arrange sending it back. Contact details are in the column on the right >>
It's perfectly normal, there are two bearing races under the jog wheel, one set for the pressure sensitive platter and another set under the outer ring. When you spin the jog wheel you are pressing it down, this causes it to engage all of the bearings and spin them, as soon as the weight of your hand comes off the wheel it lifts slightly (it has to, as that's how the pressure sensitive switch works) and can release some of the bearings, these continue to spin as there is nothing stopping them (the jog wheel itself is braked slightly), and that is the noise you hear until they come to fully rest.
You'll find that if you press down on both parts of the jog wheel when you hear the bearings running on, it will stop. As it will come into contact with the bearings and stop them.
As the jog wheels are plastic, there are slight variations from unit to unit, some will do it more than others, but it is not a fault. Also, the design of the jog wheel varies between the models, so they will all have slightly different characteristics.
