[SOLVED] CDJ850 and it's standby mode

recently, my DJM850 went into standby mode as I left it, not touching. Cool feature.

I recalled the 850s also have this. I checked if it's on or not. and yes it's on. However it doesn't go in standby mode after 4 hours. Or 8, or 24, or...

So did I do something wrong or is it a small bug that popped up?

This unit is equipped with a standby function that turns the power off if no operation is performed for a specific amount of time as a means of saving energy.

Upon shipment from the factory, the standby mode is set to 4 hours.

This setting can be changed at "UTILITY".

Setting procedure

① Press MENU (UTILITY) for at least 1 second. The UTILITY screen appears on the display.

② Use the rotary selector to select "AUTO STANDBY", then press the rotary selector.

③ Turn the rotary selector to select the setting.

ON, OFF (power does not turn off automatically)

④ Press the rotary selector to complete the setting.

@Gavin.

See https://www.dropbox.com/s/jximbm33rhu5sdb/IMG_20130701_170530.jpg -- it's ON. On both units. And both will not go into sleep after 4 hours. or 5 or 6....  I end playing, not disconnecting anything, just leave it and it stays on.

The DJM850 goes into sleep mode with the stby function, the cdj850's won't... this is with the latest officially released f/w version as of today...

So, unless I'm mistaken, it's a bug.

@Roeland > Ok, so I've had a few colleagues test this one their CDJ850s with firmware 1.08. They've tested them several times and each time standby mode has engaged after 4 hours. Are you sure you are on the latest firmware?

@Gavin, yes it is.

I took the liberty to loog a bit further

If you switch on the unit, don't touch anything, it will indeed go to sleep.

If you switch on the same unit, select a single song from USB, it will _never_ go into sleep mode.

(no play, no touching, whatever) -- maybe even selecting USB would be enough -- I'll know the next hours I now have umounted the USB stick and will wait for 4 hours and see if it will go asleep.

According to the manual "no operation" would be enough --e.g. not playing ==> go sleep

double checked -- if USB is not selected (e.g. no flashing red led) -- it will go asleep (dunno what happens with midi or CDs).

If you just select USB (even without loading a track - BAM - will never go asleep.

Did check oom both decks, even cross checked.
