[SOLVED] Question about USB Flash Drives with WAVE files on CDJ-2000 and others

I always played with mp3 until I discovered that WAVE files have more quality. Now I'm buying all my tracks as WAVE. But I when I recorded a CD to play on my CDJ-200s I saw that the files didn't came with text info, it was just like "Track 1, Track 2, etc.". Then I saw that I could enable text info when burning the CD, so it would appear on the CDJ-200s.

Now my question is about CDJs that have USB ports, like 350, 850, 900, 2000 and 2000nexus, but manly the CDJ-2000 that is still the industry standard.

If I add my WAVE tracks to the USB Flash Drive and use it on a CDJ-2000 (or the others above) will it show me the text info (the name of the track that I can edit when I open the Flash Drive folder on my PC)?? Or should I do something like enabling text info somewhere??

Thanks :D

@Daniel > When burning the tracks to CD be sure to enable burning text info also.

When using USB media, simply run your files through rekordbox and ensure all the text info is populated there - then export to USB sticks. Simples!

Everything will show up as you need it to and you'll have increased search ability on the CDJs.

Ok but I don't use rekordbox, do I need it in order to see the wave tracks name on the cdjs?

And when I mean text info I'm reffering just to the name of the file, not to secondary information like BPM, key or tempo.

The only thing I need to be displayed of my tracks is the name, the one that I can edit without any program. Does the CDJs display the name of wave tracks loaded with a USB Flash Drive without doing anything special to make it happen? (Just like it does with mp3 tracks) That is my question

@Daniel > No you don't need it but I'm sure you'd find a great addition in helping with your workflow.

If the file names are as you want them and then you burn to CD you should be fine. The CDJs can only display the information that is contained with the file name, if its there it'll display it.

ok but I'm talking about flash drives without rekordbox, not CDs, is it the same thing?

@Daniel > Yeah, pretty much. If the filenames are present on the files then they'll be present on the CDJ display.
