[SOLVED] Step-Down Adapters

Can someone please help.......

I have recently bought 2 x CDJ 2000 Nexus, 1 x DJM 900 Nexus and 1 x RMX 1000 from the USA.  I currently live in the UK and units were shipped over to me.

The dealer whome I bought them from, had told me that the units are multi-voltage and will work in my country (240v) no problem at all.  After looking at the voltage on the units and noticed they are 110v (USA) I am now having to look for step-down adapters so I can use the units.  This is as you can imagine a concern to me, as I am not sure which suitable converter to buy and that power the units for more than an hour!

I have found a step-down adapter on Amazon that converts 240v down to 110v.  Please use the link below to the Amazon page -

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Stepdown-240-120V-Transformer-45VA/dp/B000NJ26X2/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pd_nS_nC?ie=UTF8&colid=1XRT8LOH6PYUF&coliid=I3S8R4F9GL11FZ

Looking at the units, I am going to have to buy 4 converters to use on all the 4 units. Can you or someone else confirm that the converter from Amazon will be suitable to power the units for how ever long I am using them for?  If not, can you suggest another suitable converter that will do the job successfully, 100% .

Also since the units are going to be used in the UK, does this mean that the warranty for all 4 units will be invalid?  And if that is the case, and something went wrong with any or all of the 4 units, where do I stand as far as having them repaired by Pioneer?

I am positively sure that there will be other posts about this matter, and I apologize in advance if there is,

I look forward to your replies and for any help on this matter.

each unit consumes 37-25 watts, plus all the plugs are 3 prong with ground so you would need a 3-2 prong ground lift also

If i was you I would get the one you posted above but select the 100 or 150watt one, this leaves plenty of head room if you wanted to maybe put 2 players on 1 plug plus the 100/150watt one has the grounding plug built in so you wouldn't have to purchase one separately

Hi BriChi,

The 150watt one you mentioned........Is that also from Amazon? And if so, do you have the link for me to check out?

Cheers

Hi BriCh,

Do you know anything as regarding the warranty of the units being used here in the uk, from the states?

Cheers

Ok no probs. Thanks for your other advice anyways. I have ordered 4 of those 150w adapters, so will be looking forward to using my Pioneer kit soon :)

@Rod > Seeing as you already have the step down adaptor questions addressed, I'll address the warranty. The warranty is ONLY valid in the area of purchase - therefore, if you purchased the units in the US, then the warranty is only valid in the US and not in the UK. Should you come across some problem that would be covered by warranty your options are to ship the unit to the US for repair / replacement under warranty or get the unit repaired at your own expense in the UK.
