This just started happening last week and it happens on both CDJs. Let me explain...
I am in the middle of mixing two tracks, I have beat matched both songs OK? Both -2 and 3- channel faders are up (both songs playing) then I want to pitch bend a little player # 2 and as soon as a touch the outer section of the jog dial (just touching it with out touching the top) the song jumps forward a quarter of a beat, again. this just by touching the ring not moving it forward or backwards, it feels almost like it is getting a jolt or something as soon as I touch it.
Now, two things changed before I noticed this.
- I am using now HID (on the using CDJ-2000 Nexus)
2, I am using now an UPS (uninterrupted Power Supply) where my mixer, both CDJs, hard drive and laptop are connected to it) the reason I am using an UPS is because at the club when we throw the liquid Ice (nitrogen) somehow Serato freezes, I know we have some electrical issue three if this happens, so what i wanted to do was to isolate all my gear during that part of the evening, so I plug all my stuff to the UPS and I unplug the UPS from the wall.
It is hard for me to believe that it is a mechanical problem because both CDJ are doing the same thing now.
Note: I started to use HID Thursday and I did not experience this issue, I stated to use the UPS Saturday and that is is when I stared noticing this issue.
Is it possible that the UPS is causing this? that when I touch the ring it sends an electric shock to the player and makes the song jump a quarter of a beat? I mean the outer part of the jog dial is plastic. Or is it the HID functionality causing this?
has anyone experience this issue?
