[CLOSED] CDJ 2000 Nexus Looping Issue

Hello! So just got my new set up. Not sure if I'm doing something wrong, but for some reason, the loops are drifting. Played on the 2000mk1 and they work perfect. everything is used in rekordbox, latest version, and just updated the nexus players to newest firmware as well. I thought this would have fixed the issue, but it is still the same. quantize is activated, and I don't have them on synch. I tried on multiple different tracks, and the loops keep drifting:S. I tried playing with the master tempo off, and on, no difference. When i simply mix tracks, there is no problem, as I have beat matched perfectly! without touching the pitch, and using loop after it drifts. correct moving pitch, still drifts. No sweet spot while looping. I prepared loops, and have made them live as well, still drift lol. Anyone have any feedback  that I might be doing wrong? Thanks guys!

Oh no, I been reading and it seems thus has been an ongoing issue. Just one question, will this issue be fixed? I just dropped so much doe on this set :-(.

Hi Lennon, sorry to hear you're having some issues. I've never had a drifting issue with loops on the mark 1 or the nexus, they've always been tight. If you want to share a couple of tracks that drift for you, I'll check them out and see what happens at my end. I know a few people on here have had issues but the vast majority don't have any loop trouble, I suspect there's something wrong with the files. As I said, I'm happy to try and help you get to the bottom of this as the players aren't cheap and you should be able to use the loops as you'd expect because they're one of the best features in my opinion.

Quick question, have you got the quantise button turned on on both players? (It's just above the loop in button). If not then your loops won't be quantised and will drift. On the mark 1 quantise is controlled in a menu instead of a button and is on by default which is why you might have noticed a difference. Just a quick thought I had....

Hey Phil! Thanks so much for the input! Yeah I have them in quantize mode. Not sure if it's because I have 4 decks? I am re-analyzing all tracks in dynamic mode, I read that this could be the issue...I hope this is all the issue is:(

No, don't reanalyse in dynamic mode! It's not the answer, dynamic mode is only for tracks with inconsistent timings, ie live drummers. Anything from the last 5-10 years with a drum machine should be analysed as normal mode.

Gavin, pulse, any ideas? I've used older sticks that eork perfect, and nee stickd that also work perfect on yge regular cdj 2000. Just on my nexus players is the issue. Are they eorking on a fix? I am really worried about it now. I spent a ton of cash on this new set up :'(.

Does anyone know the maximum files allowed in a rekorbox database?

Hi brichi, can you have a quick look at the looping issue that Lennon describes.
I had a quick test last night and I was getting loops drifting out of time pretty quickly from two well beat matched tracks. I've not had much chance to use my decks since the last firmware so haven't seen this issue before.

It feels like the Cdj is grabbing a slightly smaller loop than it should, resulting in it drifting out of time. Attempting the same loop with sync turned on gives a perfect loop with no drift as you would expect. Turn sync off again, set a new loop and it drifts again.

Will do some more tests myself tonight, I only had 10 minutes but I think Lennon may be onto something....

sorry guys, Missed this. I have 2 parties today but once I wake up tomorrow i'll open my case and test some looping. I personally never have seen an issue while playing live but then again, I don't do realllllly long looping mixes

Thanks BriChi! I use the feature for samples and such, and would love to be able to rely on them live! Do you have any idea why Gavin or pulse aren't responding to any posts any more? Are the forums falling apart? I hope not :'(

Hi,

I have this loop problem for several months, since version 1.10. Since the master switch from one player to another as it passes over an active loop.

example:

Player 1 master and reading

Reader 2 read on a loop,

Player 1 passes over an active loop

The master automatically switches to drive 2

At this point, the sync is not always stable,

it often drift.

For this problem, I avoid spending on active loop

to avoid the master switch automatically.

And just like that, my sync is stable.

Before the master does not wavered alone as they passed on an active loop, it had to stop reading.

I mix 70 evening a year, and I can tell you that I have this problem since version 1.10.
