[CLOSED] Help needed! Nexus display - thanks pulse

Thanks for you reply pulse. Doesn't really help the situation though. I use playlists all the time. I'm a professional Dj, my issue is with the stupid wave form on nexus that is completely un useful. The info screen that was on the 2000 that is now not on the nexus is the issue. Having to press info after a track is selected to see its info is not very user friendly. Why it's been changed and replaced with a stupid waveform is beyond me. It's of no use whatsoever. I need to see my tracks and the info. The most essential things. Not a scrolling waveform. If I wanted that I would use a laptop. Even if I do use my playlists I'm still not getting the info screen. I won't be buying a nexus

Don't buy a nexus then...

IMO the layout on the nexus is far more intuitive, and seriously we're talking about 1 tap of a button to get back to the 2000 playlist view if that's what you prefer. Your issue is a bit petty really!

It didn't need changing. I know i'm not alone in thinking this. When your a dj that needs speed to perform shows at the best of their ability, things that may seem small and petty to you are a big deal for us. That extra time  faffing around going back and forth with screen views is a pain in the ass. Don't change something so dramatically, if its not broken... don't fix it!

It wouldn't be so bad if you could still see the bpm at it's correct speed. I know you can see the BPM in the bottom right corner, but it' doesn't always display at the right speed, even when changed in rekord box, It so very often decides to show the BPM at half the tempo the track actually is.

I cant get your point of view. In browsing mode you can sort by the bpm of the track...im sure you know it. in 99% the BPMs calculated in recordbox is with my tracks correct (in normal mode)

To be fair I think it's a matter of personal opinion whether it needed changed or not...

Why not just stick to the mk1s if they continue to meet your needs. The major difference was the waveform with the nexus upgrade, amongst other things

Yeah you can browse by bpm... but i don't want to browse that way. I want to be able to see all my tracks in the order i've put them, with all the info (including BPM) just like how it used to on the Mk1. I may have to buy because the clubs i play in are now introducing these new versions in. So i'd rather be up to speed and learn the system than get caught out when i turn up at the club.

Do any of you guys find the giant waveform useful? It scrolls along in realtime, not sure what use that is? It would be like staring at a peice of vinyl really closely.. which is, well, pointless lol

Yes I (and lots of us) love this waveform...if you dont like something, please dont tell people or pioneer that is un usefull...please grown up...the same like with the topic "headphones eq"...have you realised yet, why any of product specialist havent answered in this topic? its not a serious topic.. Pioneer changed  or developed something not to make you feel bad, just to make any others feel better...don't be an egoist please...Remember you don't have to buy pioneer equipment and pioneer wont cry bout it...thats true...

Look, i'm not getting into an internet argument with you. So please drop the name calling. Let's be grown up as you say.

I was just asking you if you find the giant waveform useful. You say you do. Can you explain to me what use it is. How do you utilse it? What purpose does it serve for you?

I'm not hating on Pioneer, i personally love their products, i'm trying to determine why something has become less user friendly for me.

To be clear, i have dvs, traktor, serato etc and have never used a hid mode..But like the smaller waveform on the bottom to see where are the drops and breakdowns and search in track by needle search..The bigger waveform is usefull for me while for example i use some effect and see exactly very fast and intuitive in which particular moment there will be some beat drop, breakdown etc. For example when using some effect or even beatmach

Thats ok no problem i understand.

I guess if it works for you that's great. For me the smaller wave form at the bottom, the one that shows the entire track is enough for me to know when breakdowns are coming etc etc. With the giant scrolling one, it leaves you very little time to react to a point you want to insert effect or whatever.

I find the scrolling waveform good for when looping etc. also like the way info now shows between the screens on the nexus compared to the mk1. I know that comment regarding info is abit vague but it's hard to explain Indepth not being beside a cdj

I'm going to agree with the popular opinion that this is a matter of user preference, not a defect in function or design.

Unfortunately there is no way to change this operation.
