Problems with your USB or HD/SSD?

The reason I'm posting this is because I'm seeing a lot of people post about their USBs or HD/SSDs not working. This isn't an advertisement, this is a Dj to a DJ. I own 2 Cdj-2000Nxs, a Djm-2000Nxs, and an Rmx-1000, I have had a lot of experience ever since owning my first Cdj, and let me tell you this tip, save up and buy a Lacie Rugged. Now I understand you might not have the money at the time for a higher end storage device but trust me, you want to save. I was having problems with a Toshiba HD I picked up for $100... That's $30 more than the cheapest Lacie HD you can get! Now don't go out there and buy a brand new storage device just because you have a problem, make sure to post it here first and attempt to fix it. But if you're upgrading or buying for the first time, choose a Lacie, I've had 0 problems.

I notice the majority of problems come from Western Digital brand drives. Personally, I use a G-Drive Mini (FW800/USB2) as my source and a Patriot RAGE XT USB2 stick as my export. I'm in the process of moving over to a Crucial M500 SSD in a USB3 enclosure because it's got no moving parts and works like a rocket strapped to another rocket.

I use a TOSHIBA StorE Basics, 500GB,(HDTB105EK3AA). USB 3. Very cheap, paid it less than 40 €. No problems so far and when uploading from rb to the toshiba drive is way faster than my old USB 2 sticks.

However when playing out I also have the sticks as a back up in case of hard disk failure.
