Hi,
I have exactly the same problem as Alex. Please 'Pulse' or any other Pioneer DJ boffins please help us with this?
Thanks!!!!!!
DJ Mavericks.
Hi,
I have encountered a problem with the display on CDJ-2000, and the "funny" thing is that although I play on a regular basis every week I still can’t say for sure when it exactly started to happened, but I think the "problem" started about 4 weeks ago.
I have two linked CDJ-2000 player, and I use a USB stick in one of the player that link to the other. When I browse the list on the first player (the one with the USB stick) I see artist, time, bpm, Key, star rating, and comment (In that order to the rigth) but on the other player I have another order on the field: artist, time, bpm, genre, star rating and comment. In other words the field key and genre is different on the two units.
It doesn't makes any difference if I move the USB stick to the other player (the unit with the USB stick will show "KEY" and the linked unit will show "GENRE" as the fourth field when browsing.
I have confirmed this on other CDJ2000 and 2000 Nexus.
Have any of you seen this before? If so, why is it like that? And have you then find a way around it? And why did it occurred now?
Tech. background:

I would make sure that you have the right fields picked out in Rekordbox. I need to test this as well, but make sure your playlist is showing the same order as RB.
Hi!
Unfortunately this "problem" has nothing to do with the fields in RekordBox or the playlist order. I have already tried that and almost everything else.
I've even tried to contact Pioneer support direct. They started to talk to me about it, but as soon as it got too complicated for them (I think), they stopped responded to my suggestions on what could cause this problem and I have’t heard back from them.
Sorry but this will probably offend someone now, but…
I’m really tired of the lack of professional support for Pioneer products. I know that "Pulse" is probably doing his best, but why don’t Pioneer have an employed person that can help us with bugs/problems?
I don’t talk about questions/rant like: “I have 30.000.000.000 music files, why can’t I have them all in one playlist on my USB stick?” I’m talking about real showstoppers and things in Pioneer products that doesn't work as I t supposed to.
I've also posted a few other questions in August under: http://forums.pioneerdj.com/entries/47599159-Bugs-Problem-with-Rekordbox-3-0-1-and-suggestions-for-future-versions-
And as you can see, I haven’t got any respond to that either…
You might notice that English is not my native language, but I hope you understand anyway ;-)
Br,
Alex
Same issue here, exactly as described by the original poster, and the entire reason why I have signed up to these forums.
This wasn't happening before recently updating to the most recent firmware. The two decks that were updated were several versions outdated not to mention mismatched versions. Although the update has sorted a few issues, it appears to have broken genre display which has become frustrating when going through new music.
I have received an email from customer support saying that their software team is looking into it. Let's hope they can get this taken care of soon!
I don't have my players in front of me right now but I recall there is a setting in the CDJs that allows you to change what info is displayed ... is this possibly where the issue comes in?
That was my first inclination, but no luck. It's all about the linked behavior here. The host USB device will show 'Key' and the Linked device will show 'Genre'.
USB in Deck 1 -> Deck 1 shows Key, Deck 2 (linked) shows genre
USB in Deck 2 -> Deck 2 shows key, Deck 1 (linked) shows genre
Hi Pulse,
Any update on resolving this problem. I have exactly the same problem as 'Alex' and 'Donnie'.
Cheers,
DJ Mavericks.
Okay, so my comment (above) was regarding the second field in the display, but it looks like the engineers are aware of this issue and are looking into a fix. Their current suggestion for a work-around is to ensure that USB sticks in both decks are configured through rekordbox to show the same info.
Just a heads up...two USB sticks properly set up in Rekordbox still leads to the same result. Even just one USB stick linked has the same result.
Hi,
Just to let you know, the problem still exist after upgrade to RekordBox 3.2.0
//Alex
This isn't an issue with rekordbox, but rather the firmware of the CDJ. A fix will be available in the next firmware update.
