MIDI between XDJ-R1 and Traktor 2 falls out

MIDI between XDJ-R1 and Traktor 2 falls out all the time. I'm on Win 7. Desperate for help. I use the USB cable that came with the XDJ. The computer is an Acer Aspire TimelineX 3820TG SSD laptop. I'm not able to recognize any pattern to why this happens. It can be linked up an and working for weeks or die 15 times in a day. Only way I know of to fix this is reboot both Traktor and XDJ. I shall be forever eternal for a cure.

Ole, it happens with virtual DJ too.

By the looks of it to me its a general issue that many people are facing.

I had mine crash twice on me last night, although I have found I never need to restart my laptop. I do however always need to restart the unit everytime.

Hi and thanks.

You're referring to the application by http://www.virtualdj.com I assume.

By crash, you mean that the MIDI stops working, but you can continue to use the software without the XDJ, yes?

This points in the direction that it might be a problem with the XDJ.

So utterly not acceptable. Have Pioneer come forth with an official statement?

I never need to restart my laptop either, just Traktor.

Also, is there a build list for the firmware releases anywhere?

Hi Ole - yes that's what i mean.

The sound will still go through the R1 fine as i have the mixer set to use in XDJ-R1 mode not internal. So this is most definitely a MIDI issue with the unit.

Nope nothing as yet as an official statement and if im honest i doubt we will ever get one.

One check you might to see if its the same for me is, when the MIDI fails for you next time, try playing a CD or a track of USB on the device to see.

I just thought of that too. Just changing to USB or CD mode and then back instead of restarting. I'll try that and report back. This will of course cut the sound too, but if it works it will be a minute faster.

Anyways we all should get our money back. I will not stop talking to Pioneer until this is resolved. What a mess.

That didn't do it. The XDJ-R1 must be restarted every darn time.
