@Mike > this is something I haven't tested but you may be right. Out of curiousity, did you change the channel inputs on the back to "Digital"? They're short little switches beside the channel input RCA connections.

[SOLVED] Traktor HID mode CDJ-2000s connected digitally = No sound?
I played a gig this past weekend. The setup was (2) CDJ-2000NXS connected digitally via s/pdif to a DJM-2000NXS instead of via analog RCA.
I've used Traktor in HID mode hundreds of times and have never had an issue. This time I was able to control Traktor just fine and see all my playlists on the CDJ2000 screen. However no sound was coming up on the mixer (Yes I had the audio configured properly) When I plugged in my backup USB drive sound came up on the channel like normal.
I'm guessing using HID mode when the CDJ2000s are connected digitally isn't supported. I have a feeling thats because in HID mode the CDJ-2000s are supposed to act as the soundcard and do the Digital to Analog conversion. When connected digitally this would add an extra step in the chain which would put the D/A conversion responsibility on the DJM-2000.
Has anyone else experienced this?

I had a DJM 2000 but at that time I did not have the cdj2000nxs yet but I always used and use digital cables and never had an issue with the mixer.
Now I have a DJM900 and the CDJ2000nxs and I still use digital cables and still don't have an issue EXCEPT a couple of days ago when I hooded everything up, what you described happened to me as well, I reset traktor and the CDJs and the Mixer and sound came back. I never reported it as I thought it was me but I am sure it was not the setting as the reset fixed everything. Strange but if it happens again I will investigate a bit more.
Hope this helps...I don't think its a support issue.
