DDJ SX2 Cue Pad LEDs stay on . . . ALWAYS

I have a DDJ SX2 that has 3 pads on the right side that remain on. When a track is loaded in Serato DJ, the LEDs flash with the CUE and Play buttons, and remain lit while the track is playing. This can be quite distracting. However, they do function correctly when there is a hot cue assigned to them. The unit is not yet a year old. I am wondering if anyone else is experiencing this type of problem. Also, could this be remedied with a factory reset? If so, could someone point me to documentation that would explain the reset process? I dread having to have the unit serviced locally, since the only certified repair center here in Metro Atlanta has a very bad reputation. Options would be greatly appreciated.

I asked them for an update recently and just heard back - they feel the issue is hardware related and you should send the unit for in-warranty repair. If you find that the local authorized shop doesn't do an adequate job, it can be sent back for repair on the same issue even if it is out of warranty. The alternative is to send it to Pioneer's service center in Long Beach, CA. You can find technical support contacts here.

Have you updated the firmware since you bought the unit, and what version of Serato are you using?

Yes firmware was updated day one, and I'm using the latest version of Serato DJ.

I noticed that the lights on the pads in question are not on when the computer is not connected. Once the computer is connected and turned on, the lights come on. I would love to try a factory rest of this thing, if anyone knows how. I even tried updating the firmware AGAIN. That did nothing.

I am starting to think that it is a software issue or something. I got the lights to go off, but they eventually do come back on. When they do, they are dimly lit. Turning off demo mode helped. I would still love to hear if anyone knows how to do a factory reset or initialize the unit.

Could you please shoot a video so I can show the engineers? Post it to YouTube and mark it as unlisted.

Here's a link to a very short video that shows the LEDs on the 5th and 7th pads blinking. I am getting close to the end of my warranty, and would really like to get some feedback from you all before I risk taking this unit to the local authorized repair center that I discussed in the original post. I'm scared that they will make it worse, as it has been reported that they have done to other pioneer gear.

Any feedback from the engineers? I'm really thinking about unloading this unit to someone who can deal with the malfunctioning lights. I find it very distracting. This is my first Pioneer purchase, and I never would have guessed that I'd have an issue like this pop up before the unit was even 6 months old. I've been holding out for an answer since June (tech support) and July here on the forum. I just want to know if this is something that can be repaired.

I just had this same problem. It was working fine last night. Today, three of the pads on the right are lit up faintly. When I play the track, they go away. Functionality seems to be ok but it's very concerning.

Any solutions to this? Is there a way to factory reset the SX-2? I can't find it anywhere.
