Pioneer Xdj-Rx sync problem
Hi, My question is I have bought an Xdj-Rx, updated to the latest firmware (1.70) same with Rekordbox (4.1). Now, on one or two of my tracks the tunes do not sync perfectly. The majority (95%) work just fine but today i was making a set for a upcoming gig and this one tune just kept slipping out of time. I have tried mixing it with the sync on and off, also analysed the track both normal and dynamically in rekordbox and made sure its in sync by ajusting the beat grid. Now when i had the Cdj 1000 mk3 i had no problems mixing the track but now it seems impossible even if i turn the quantize on or off. What could be the problem? Why is it so hard to keep the track in time manually on the xdj compared to my beloved Cdj's? Oh and when i press the que and then play the track the song does not kick in ontime so i need to adjust the jog wheel to set it to the correct point. The sync button then flashes and if i press it, it throws the track out of time completely.

Yes, but VARIABLE bitrate (VBR) or Constant bitrate (CBR) ?

I'm not to sure. I've checked the bitrate on most of the tracks that don't sync properly and they are 320kbps some are 256kbps. How can i find out if they are variable or constant?

Usually the giveaway is that the bitrate isn't a fixed / specific number like 256 or 320, but rather an odd number like 319 or 198.
Are you beatmatching by ear or by matching the numbers on the BPM displays?

Some of the tracks slip out of the rekordbox grid but I amend them with dynamic analysis. These work ok with sync sometimes but are no good with sync off. I've bought the tracks from Beatport which are usually good quality. I was wondering if it was something to do with the updates because when i press the loop slice the beats do not sync either and thats on most tracks. I tend to use sync on as I'm lazy now that the feature as been added to the hardware but i will do it manually as and when required. I noticed changes (glitches) in the equipment after update 1.3. My friend is a professional Dj and he swears by rekordbox 3.3 and no higher. Maybe the updates are not bug free. Just a thought thats all.
