Planned rekordbox dj update for XDJ-RX HID Support

You quoted last week on Facebook:
"Planned rekordbox dj update for XDJ-RX HID Support
We are working hard behind the scenes to establish HID connection between XDJ-RX and rekordbox dj. This will bring both track browsing and waveform display to the XDJ-RX screen.  We expect to offer this in February 2016 via a software update. In the meantime, rekordbox 4.0.4 brings basic XDJ-RX control for rekordbox dj before the enhanced version comes in February 2016. Thank you for your Patience."

Sorry, I don't understand, what's the goal of this upgrade will be. I thought that the idea of the XDJ-RX is to perform without a laptop, old-school-stand-alone-style! And  "brings track browsing and waveform Display to the XDJ-RX screen" that's possible so far, too.

Please give me some more information about this planned milestone.

regards,
Volker

@Volker > Yes, the RX was designed as a "stand-alone" product, but so many users were vocal about being omitted on the initial round of product announcements that the development team decided to also extend support to the RX.

What has happened in the initial release of support is simple control, with advanced control to come in the February release.

it if you want to use Rekordbox DJ (performance mode),,,, Completely different then what you are doing now.

right now you use Rekordbox 4.0 in export mode linked to the RX or with flash drives as the deck was intended with release. Now there is Rekordbox DJ as of October so they are adding the ability to control that also from the RX for users that want to

I see, so ... it's about controlling all the RX-gear remotely via a laptop (top down)? Or control the Rekordbox DJ software on a laptop through the RX Hardware (bottom up)?

What's the advantage of this setup compered to using the build-in screen, filters, loops etc. that are already hard coded in the Controller even now? Sound quality? Latency?

What is it one can expect to improve a gig with this Milestone?

I see this February  update as a good idea , where you can use the XDJ-RX in what ever mode you desire, Standalone or with a computer. This gives the DJ the best of both worlds. This gives us the value for our hard spent money, As they say " Money does not grow on trees" . Thanks to the Pioneer team for listening to it's customers needs.
