Rekordbox Playlists Windows -> Mac

Hello everyone ,

Simple question : is it possible to get a playlist that you've made in rekordbox on your windows desktop (with cuepoints, grid settings , .. the lot) to be a playlist in  rekordbox on a macbook air laptop ?

I know it's not an ideal setup Windows desktop and Macbook but i'm saving money for an Imac , but since that will take a while i thought i'd post my question here.

Grtz & thanks in advance !

Although I haven't tested either of these, I have two recommendations for you...

1) Try an export / import - you may need to relocate items on the new computer, but it may just do the trick.

2) Move the entire music collection and database to an external drive. This may be the better choice, but again, I haven't tried this between OS's so I'm not entirely sure it would work flawlessly.

Thanks for the response ,

with '1)' you mean an .XML export i guess ?(that's the only one that saves cue-points,loops, etc. i think?)

i did try that and i could load it via the 'brigde' function, the songs were there and the cue-points and stuff but the files were missing which is weird cause, to answer your '2)' my music is on an external hard drive (my Itunes library).

The thing is, i think :

rekordbox didn't find the songs cause the path that my songs have on my desktop rekordbox ( so the path to my external drive where all my music is stored in iTunes ) is somehow different when my external hard drive is plugged into my macbook laptop and i use the rekordbox on that ( although the music didn't change places, still on my hard drive ) ?

If you could give me any feedback on this or maybe a solution, something i didn't think of, that would be a big help !

Grtz

Oh ok that's a step I missed than.

I checked and when I connect my external hard drive I get the option to move master database on my macbook aswell as on my desktop, so thats good.

So I have to make sure I've got the same rekordbox version (4.0.5) on both PC's and then just move the master database on my external drive on both.

I don't quite get how that will solve the 'can't find the song' issue ? Will these steps fix the path-finding problem ?

I like to understand what it do before i do it you know : )
