correcting (syncing) the track all the time. Is it normal??

Hello,

It's the first time i work with pioneer. Before i worked with Traktor.

I bought two XDJ1000's and a djm 900nexus.

I don't use the sync button and that's mine question about.

When i'm beatmatching i start the next track in a loop, well before the other track ends. So, the 2 tracks running 1 or 2 minutes with each other. For example, both with 123.6 BPM.

After a couple of seconds the track are running the same but is it normal that you keep correcting (with the jogwheel) the next track all the time? Also when they are both in 123.6BPM?

Most of the time (for example after 15 seconds) the tracks are not running the same anymore.

Is it a "pioneer thing"?

Are mine XDJ's okay?

Is it something in rekordbox? (i have normale analyzing)

With Traktor the 2 tracks keeps playing ALL THE TIME in the same BPM when you have them in the same line....

Thank you,

Peter

So I have a bit more insight into this issue for everyone...

If you play the same track on 2 x XDJ-1000, the 2 tracks may not be in sync. This is caused by variances of the system locked oscillator used in each XDJ-1000. This is the current status of how XDJ-1000 works.

If you play the same BPM tracks on 2 x XDJ-1000, the 2 tracks may not be in sync. This is caused by the BPM analysis accuracy and is currently under investigation for improvement.

The LOOP and the played track may not be in sync. This is caused by the accuracy of BPM and LOOP. This is the current status of how XDJ-1000 works .

As BEATGRID is managed by ms, mixing a LOOP with Master Tempo on will be drifted when SYNC is not used.

If 0.3msec gap, which is rounded, exists, one loop will generate 0.3msec every time a one-beat loop is played and this gap will be accumulated. For example, 4.8msec of gap will be generated by mixing for 4 bars (16 beats). This is corrected when using the SYNC function.

To be honest Peter, I just did the same migration as you did... And I'm wondering the same things. Even though beatgrids are set correctly. And USING the sync button is even a worse option in my opinion.  I really had hoped things would be an improvement, mostly because you can correct beatgrids in Rekordbox where it's not exactly regularly. Only question that's left for me: where is the problem. Is it Rekordbox or the XDJ? I think it's the last one. Because I cannot imagine you arrive at a dance hall with an USB stick, using CDJ, and suffering the same problem?  I've read some forums with same problem, some say it's due to firmware 1.80 (which I did because it introduced the load lock on playing tracks). They all say this firmware version is causing the problems. However, I can not say yes or no, because first thing I did when I bought the XDJ was doing a firmware upgrade. Keep me posted @cplatteeuw Regards and happy dj-ing

Thank you for your reply.

So, i'm not the only one....

I think it's very disappointing that something like this doesn't work perfectly on the XDJ. Also you get from a 800,- euro Traktor S4 to a 3500,- euro XDJ and DJM...

When i mix a track in another track i want my concentration on the equalizers and faders....Not that i have to sync the track for the 100th time!

When i connect my XDJ to Traktor Pro it works perfect!! So i also think it's something in the XDJ.

I'm wondering if pioneer can solve this problem with a firmware update...

I hope somebody from pioneer can reply on my post

Let's hope ;-) I've spent WEEKS setting all the analysis correct, putting it in intelligent playlists, my whole setup is just great! If it were usable at least ;-) Returning to Traktor is not an option because I completely re-arranged all my folders. Rekordbox however is GREAT. So easy to create (automatically updated) playlists. Let's hooooope.

I just send pioneer a message. They will respond in a couple of days. I readed another story of a guy with the same problem. Pioneer said it's maybe something with his songs :S

Maybe it is good to play 2 songs on a CDJ 2000nexus and after that on a XDJ1000.

When the songs running out of each other on the XDJ and not on the CDJ then we know the problem is inside the XDJ

This evening i set 2 songs in rekordbox and play them in rekordbox, they where running perfect with each other. After that i send the same tracks to my XDJ from  rekordbox (hub ethernet). And what do you think.....they run OUT of each other. So the problem is in the XDJ i think :(:(

im fairly new to pioneer and my XDJ-RX but i can confirm, the same exact thing happens with me, i have to constantly re adjust the beat.

I've experimented with even the same track on both decks and they run out of beat synchronization.

Giving this is my first week with my XDJ-RX sadly i have absolutely nothing to add to the solution lol

Do you have the tracks analysed and beat-gridded properly? That is the most common source of problems with tracks not remaining in sync (without the SYNC function engaged).

heyas Pulse, yes indeed grid is perfectly done, both tracks are in the same exact grid (being the same exact song that is) and yet still goes off....

Manually confirm or change the BPM to a whole number without a decimal.

export them and try that way, it should work fine.

hey Rick, at least on my XDJ-RX it don't matter 123 or 123.8

they go off regardless and the interesting part is, even is the same song is playing they still go off :/

Quantize on , one of the decks as Master, no sync on (but even with sync it goes off) ill be honest i think sync on this controller (for those who use) will be very challenging cause its unreliable

Turn quantize off and any sync off and try it again

the only time I had any trouble was when the beat grids

were off, and after an edit it worked fine with and without

the sync function. I did have trouble with quantize on though

I tried with the same song on 2 decks (xdj's). It worked fine after i set the beatgrid in Rekordbox.

When i use the sync-mode it works 70-80% fine.

So, maybe i'm a little bit spoiled with Traktor Pro where it works very very good.

Maybe it's the next problem with the XDJ's:

When in connect my XDJ's with traktor and i set the BPM of the first track to 124.0 on the XDJ then i see in Traktor Pro BPM of 124.02

if i set the second track to 124.0 BPM  on the XDJ then it is possible that i see in traktor pro a BPM of 124.07 So, maybe there is the difference...???

Pioneer, is it possible to set the BPM in 2 decimal?

I have the same problems,
I noticed it especially with techno music, you hear the beats go off really quickly.|
I've did research and tried everything in rekordbox but it seem to be thats not the problem! It al started with the 1.8 firmware. WHEN IS PIONEER GOING TO FIX THIS? I can't even play anymore because having to adjust every 10 secs makes it way too hard for someone who has just started dj. Even sync doesn't work, tracks go off beat all the time. i think pioneer has to give us some better firmware or the option to downgrade. i didn't spend this much money for a crappy device. Also it would be great if the waveform could be expanded with the bpm and bpm in 2 decimals,  so you can manually beat match better.

I wonder how many of you experience problems with beat matching manually or using sync? Hopefully pioneer is coming with new firmware soon of ill send this controller back to them

@Judas > As you haven't really outlined exactly what the problem is and this post is now almost 3 years old, I'll ask you to please create a new post with more detail as to the problem and we'll be happy to help.
