By the way, wouldn't it be easier if the forum would have its own section for cdj 2000 and for cdj 2000 NXS?
Hi guys,
Please see the video attached. Is this a hardware issue? When I am trying to loop specially with sleep mode, sometimes it does not respond at all!
Please help!

Please guys, have a look at the videos, it shows the error I am trying to describe, would be great to know if it is hardware error or software. Please help!
Thanks
ill try now Xavier, so you're saying I should let my decks go to sleep mode (screen dims) then try and play and loop a track?
Yes go to slip mode, then try looping in slip mode. as the videos shows, either on loop mode or slip mode when selecting the loop tempo sometimes is not recognised in my cdj
By the way, thanks BriChi :)
i tried it on both decks and the loops worked perfect, I wish I was able to reproduce it but so far no
I turned both decks on, loaded a track on each and hit pause, waited till it went to sleep and then played the tracks and used the strip loops and it worked as it should.
I will definitely try again once I have some time
Just to be clear, I have put 2 threads, each with a different defect. This thread is mainly about the problems specified in the video, where when looping sometimes the needle search track pad is not responding. For this you do not need to pause the track, just play with the loop options in sleep mode, specially the ones shown in the video i.e. the ones more to the right.
The other thread is about sleep mode not working properly. I think you are trying to reproduce this one? This fail I found and actually another mate also, is just that when slip mode is enable, sleep mode does not work. I mean you stop the track but the track stops completly, whereas with sleep mode the track of course shall stop but continue moving in the "background"
Thanks for your input BriChi!
@Xavier > With all the sleep mode and slip mode references around here I'm confused... What do you mean?
In the original post you mention trying to loop in sleep mode.. Did you mean SLIP mode? And if so, you didn't have it engaged.
What firmware version are you on?
I meant slip mode. And it was a hardware issue with the needle pad. Now because of the misunderstanding is there sleep mode in the nexus?
there is NO sleep mode
there actually is a mode that after the unit sits for some minutes, a screen saver mode mode and also a standby mode kicks in, so yes, there is a sleep mode if the deck is not used for a while
Just what I thought. Then with all due respect I do not understand why so much misunderstanding. I spelled the word wrong but I believe is understandable that sleep mode =slip mode or have I gone all crazy :-D
Anyway thanks for the help and replies
I think you missed my last post, you saying sleep mode makes sense too because after some time, the decks do go into a standby "sleep" mode just so you know, thats why there was confusion
Xavier... Sleep mode DON'T equal Slip mode... What Brichi is saying is that after a "LONG" period of time that the cdj's are not being used... That means not ONE button has been touch. That the player go into a standby mode... Like your computer does after a little while of not using it. Which I did not know... So thanks BriChi... Slip mode is a actual function on the players.
Yes I do understand the difference. Still hard to understand the misunderstanding since when sleep mode you don't make a loop and also since I uploaded some videos. But I am thankful for the help so sorry then for the misunderstanding and as usual thanks BriChi
This thread is putting me to slip.
LOL
LOL, nice
@Xavier > I've tried several times to recreate this but couldn't. Does it happen continuously with any particular media source or track?
Gavin, thanks for your reply. As written before this was a hardware issue, got a replacement and no more problem. Thanks for the help
Ah ok, good stuff - thanks for letting me know.
