when i set a cue point in rekordbox the song starts automatically and i cant get the track to stay on the cue point i have to press stop and use the jogwheel to bring it back to the cue point if i press on the hotcue button the song will start playing again am using pioneer ddj sx with os el capitan
Well, that's part of the problem - El Capitain is not currently supported by either the hardware or the software.
Until compatibility verification is complete, I'm sorry but we can't provide any support for your issue.

but am using serato and my ddj sx on the same el capitan and ive got no probs am also using djay pro as well no problems at all
Unfortunately, using the DDJ SX with Serato as a host is different then when you use the DDJ SX with Rekordbox as a host.

Assuming Serato works fine under El Capitan, a controller (DDJ SX) that was tailor-made for a host (Serato) from the inside out will naturally work in conjunction with it if there are no compatiblity issues under the OS.
Rekordbox DJ is not yet compatible with El Capitan. Since the host app isn't functioning under the OS, a DJ controller that requires said host to run will not work either.
