No Rekordbox 4 support for DDJ-S1?

Why no support for the DDJ-S1 to work with RB4 Performance mode?

I play with my Nexus setup and my DDJ-S1 depending on venue etc.
Would make my life so much more easier if I could just use Rekorbox for both? Now I need to copy playlists etc for Serato when I want to use my DDJ-S1

@Armand > With the recent announcement of support for products such as the CDJ-400 (which is much older than the DDJ-S1), it's entirely possible that in future we will see support for other products. Unfortunately we don't have any information on a timeline or even if it will be supported.

Hi Pulse, Any updates some time? I would buy the full Rekordbox license in a SNAP if they supported the DDJ-S1

Please don't post the same question across several topics -- the answer is there is currently no official support for the DDJ-S1 and we don't have a timeline for its integration.

This is the only topic I posted about the DDJ-S1 and Rekordbox intergration. The other poster asked his question on the same issue a month after mine... But I wil only use this thread then in future for this particular issue.

Thanks for the response.

Regards

Sorry, there seemed to be notifications from you for 3 threads, might have been a system glitch!

Thanks for the reply Roel, I actually also manually mapped my DDJ-S1 to RekordBox but there were a lot of functions that did not work like the search strip, browsing knobs etc...

I think if Pioneer don't release an official mapping or support for the DDJ-S1 & RekordBox then I will have to continue using Serato... :(

@Armand > Many of those functions are not available for mapping yet as the MIDI customization is really in its infancy. Hopefully in future updates of rekordbox we'll see the ability to change things like the type of control (for using different controls like knob vs. encoder vs. touch-strip vs. button, etc).

Hi Pulse, oh okay makes sense then that I couldn't map some of the functions. Aw that would be really cool :) Keeping my fingers crossed :)
Thanks for the reply

Hi,

I would just like to also add my disappointment that there is no DDJ S1 (or T1) support in Rekordbox when just about every other Serato controller launched around the same time e.g. DDJ-ERGO is supported.

The S1 is a more premium product than many of the supported controllers like the ergo which are also on the discontinued list but are still supported, why have the S1 and T1 users been left out to dry? Its fairly obvious it would need such little developer time to include the relevant mapping for it.

I am eagerly waiting to try Rekordbox and will more than likely purchase the DJ / DVS pack if its any good and works correctly with my controller.

Just seems a little unfair this particular controller has been singled out when so many have been added (especially when the others were cheaper units just as old).

@Wayne > Sorry, but the ERGO is almost a year newer than the S1 and T1. Unfortunately there are no plans at this time to include support for either the S1 or T1 - you would be able to use them for MIDI control, but then the jog dials would not be mapped.

OK fair point but it's a more of a budget model of around the same era and there is other older hardware listed such as the cdj 400 supported. You can see these even share similar hardware components like the jog wheels.

Therefore my point still stands and I see no logical reason why owners of these units have intentionally been left out.

There may certainly be some technological reason they have been omitted.

Well it's still supported in the very latest version of Serato DJ 1.9.3 (not itch that it launched with) same as any of the other controllers listed with Recordbox so would be interested to know what that might be. Feels a bit more like a political reason than a technical one IMO.

And that could well be, but it won't change the fact it's not currently supported.

yeah very sad that the DDJ-S1 is still not supported...

I have mine in perfect condition just lying here gathering dust as I have moved completely away from Serato and only play cdj's but would love for the S1 to get support from Rekordbox so I can use my S1 again when CDJ's are not available...

Really bummed out by this...

If possible can Pioneer verify that the S1 won't get support in the future cause then I can sell mine while it still has some value...
