Moblie phone and external hardrive connect problems xdj rx

I have just bought an xdj rx and it simply will not recognise my Samsung Galaxy S5. It also will not recognise an external hard drive. I have installed the latest firmware, which incidentally says it fixes not being able to load a track while a deck is playing, this hasn't fixed it.
Any advise please on these problems please?

Hello, I'm not sure about your phone but have you downloaded the Rekordbox App onto the phone to use with the XDJ RX.
Is your hard drive formatted to Fat 32 at 4096 bit? The XDJ RX will only work with that type of formatting.
The load lock, when you update the firmware you still need to set the load lock option to on in utilities (press & hold the menu button).it's the first option.
Hope that's some help.

Thanks.

Hi Paul

Yes i have the app on my phone but the device is simply not reconised. just says unsupported device or error.
Yes good point regarding the fat32, that'll probably b the answer to that one.
I've sussed out the load lock now and that's working fine.
So it's just trying to get the phone to connect. Obviously that can't be fat32 as it's an android.
Any other suggestions?

Thanks

Jonathan

Hello Jonathan, sorry I don't, what sort of phone is it? Try re-installing the app maybe.
I use a 128gb iPad with the Rekordbox app installed as my back up drive + a couple of iPods connected via the line inputs, that way if the hard drives causes issues I switch to the line input & use the iPod's so I can continue playing songs until I resolve the issue.
Sorry I can't throw any more light on your problem. Maybe someone else might be able to assist. Thanks.

The phone is a Samsung Galaxy S5.
Yea maybe I'll try reinstalling the app.
I mainly use the usb stick but have been thinking of using a hard drive also.
I've got my cdj's plugged in so if there's ever an issues then I can quickly fire those up.

Thanks for your help Paul
