Well, there is something pissing me off... I've analyzed all my tracks on rekordbox first (and I have to say the beat detection is very very bad... put your eyes on Traktor one). But apart from that there is something strange happening...
I have 2 XDJ 700, not Pro Link connected, and i thought they would play the track at the original speed but what happens is that they lock on the bpm analysis by rekordbox. I don't want that as I was playing and loaded a track which is 130 bpm and it was locked at 75 bpm... of course pitching up made the track sound like crap.
What am I doing wrong? Is there any way to put the XDJ to behave like a regual vinyl deck or cd player which will play the track as is and not lock on the BPM? Master Tempo isn't on I'm 100% sure.

So ... was the beat grid of that track incorrect? If the track was 130bpm and the beat grid showed 75bpm, the track would still play at normal speed when at 0% pitch and no sync in engaged. What you'd see is the track scrolling by with beat markers not aligned with the beats of the waveform, but it certainly shouldn't play at a different tempo if there is nothing telling the player to do so.
Does it happen with multiple tracks or just one?
all tracks that the bpms are not right that happens. The thing i can most relate/compare is by example when you use Traktor and it incorrectly shows a different bpm, you load the track without Master Sync engaged, it plays default at 0 pitch but if you down / up pitch the track it adds the % of pitch to the bpm value instead of the track original tempo.. This is annoying as hell.
Btw Pulse, you should really tell R&D Team that RekordBox in it's state it's god awful... There are better free tools doing better beat analysis than RB... If you have a bit of OCD and a lot of tracks in RB it gets insane.. there are even tracks where it says 000.0 bpm... Shouldn't be to hard to have the same system as Traktor or Serato both with awesome beat detection. As soon as I put a track which kick pattern isn't straight 4/4 like a broken techno track (which still is 4/4 but the kicks are in different places) it goes nuts.
Have you considered selecting a few tracks, which have been analysed incorrectly, changing the BPM range and re-analysing them?
Yeah that's what i am doing to 4859 tracks... since RekordBox can't **** do it right like Traktor... Is that hard?
What I've found is that when quantize is on... it literally messes up with everything, pitch, tempo... turned off works like a charm. Grid is slightly off for 3ms... u got to go to the jog 15 to 15 seconds nudge... Why put Quantize on by default if Rekordbox can't even detect beats correctly? I do imagine poor drum n bass and hip hop guys...
I play D&B and have no issues with it. Then again, I've been using rekordbox for several years and understand how to use it.
I almost always have to set the beatgrid on Traktor or on Rekordbox..
